Direct From Philly — Restaurant in Deerfield Beach

To be fair, others in the office thought the food was good.

We ordered from Direct from Philly the other day for the office. It wasn't my pick, it seemed a little heavy for the office, but people wanted to change up our Friday lunch. I probably should have stuck with the place in known for, the Philly steak. Feeling a bit roguish, I went with the pizza Philly. I also got some of their garlic cheese fries. Things showed as as they should be, and everyone dug into there meals. Only 1 or 2 people thought the sandwiches were exceptional. Some newbies were surprised at what a Philly actually was. I started with my fries and appreciated the goodness. They were fresh fries with crumbled cheese and plenty of garlic. Plenty. I love garlic, and yet I was still very impressed and how much garlic was embedded in the fries. The sandwich though, wasn't for me. I took a couple bites and realized I wasn't going to be eating it. It's definitely not an upgrade to add pizza sauce to a Philly, this Philly. It seemed to clash, taste bud-wise, with the meat. The bread itself was wet and firmly attached to the meat. The cheese wasn't noticeable, and seemed to be overwhelmed by the sauce.

I didn't want to be too negative others in the office said the Philly steak was good, and made authentically, so probably stick with...

This place simply does not exist. Gps directions lead me to a petrol station and after checking all near areas and plazas.. I came up empty handed with an empty stomach and a frustrated family.

(After reading other reviews I realised that the location was inside the petrol location. I will be changing my review to neutral until I can wipe the egg off my face and revisit the location. I will update once I've actually tasted the food.)

I've had the opportunity to eat here on a couple occasions now and the quality of food is great. The pricing is a little high but you get what you pay for. You can fully customize a philly cheese steak sub and they have many options in addition. The fries are delicious, I always want more. The customer service is good and they have a small bar to eat at but be aware that this place is popular so don't expect a free...

The main issue with this place is the shady owner. The guy cooking the steaks looks like he's been shooting heroin. The prices have gone up but the food quality is way down. Nothing like what it was in the beginning. The owner says " we came back to the chevron because this was where we had our success" but the whole time he was at that nasty dive bar he said he had to leave the chevron because he business couldn't thrive in a gas station. There was no Direct from philly for a while because this guy keep pissing off the owners of the places he would rent from because he would get a damn credit card machine. So now he's crawled back to owners of the chevron for god knows what reason, not sure why he didn't just rent a take out place. I think he went In debt and sold the business to the chevron and now just works for them. The food was not even close...
