First, I arrived walking in to the store with my 7 yr old son, and I was holding my sleeping infant in her carseat. There are no carts appropriate for a mother to set her baby's seat down on. Actually, there were no cats at all. Another shopper saw my struggle and went searching for a cat for me as the employees were all too busy to help. Setting her seat on the cart was lopsided and unsafe. So I had to wake her up and strap her into the carts toddler seat which was to big. How is a mother of a small infant supposed to shop in this store? Next, as pretty much all Kohls stores are, you have to walk around the entire perimeter to find the section you can to shop in. There's no "guide" at the entrance to tell you where you can find the shoe department or ladies intimates or whatever. The aisles, even on the perimeter are too skinny. As we tried to find the departments we were looking for, we had to constantly dodge and wait for other customers to move out of the way. Now, let's talk about kohl's general strategy to make you think you're saving money, when in reality, you've just spent more than you would have at other local stores for comparable items, like Target and Walmart. Even though the blouse is really only worth maybe $14 tops, they put a trash on it saying it was originally $78, so wow look at how much you saved! And then we will give you $10 kohls cash so you can come back and get deceived again lol. The checkouts at both entrances were packed to the brim with 20+ people in each line waiting approx 20 minutes in line before they could checkout because the store was understaffed. Ugh. My kids hated this shopping experience, as did I. All of that for a pair of gym shoes that costed $50 and in reality I could have gotten them cheaper online including shipping and not have to deal with the hassle. I thought taking the kids out for a shopping trip would be fun......
Read moreI stopped in here for the sole purpose of returning an Amazon package. In that I succeeded. An employee kindly greeted me and pointed me in the right direction. The return process was easy and took two seconds. The clerk gave me a return receipt with a 25% off coupon on it, so I decided I might as well give the shop a once over.
First of all, it's worth mentioning that the prices are so obfuscated that it's difficult to tell what anything costs. The typical ploys of everything in the store being 50% off, etc. are in place. I hate anywhere that does this and this store is certainly no exception. Either everything is 50% off therefore making my coupon inapplicable (can't be combined with other offers) or the 50% off price is just the regular price and the discount is a brazen deceit.
Anyway, I don't even get to find out because they don't carry anything in my size (I knew going in that they almost definitely wouldn't so no big surprise). The one thing I would have purchased if I found were dress socks, but all of the socks are "one size fits all" (sizes 6-12.5). No separate big/tall area was to be seen.
Store was very clean and employees were very helpful. I'm really glad that they make returning an Amazon purchase easy, but that's the only reason I have to visit again and I...
Read moreThere's a reason I don't go to department stores, and my experience recently was a shining example. I went in to do nothing but find a hat. I was looking for a flat cap, but after sometime eventually found the tiny hat rack near the big and tall section. I took a look through a big and tall section, and what other surprise to find but there weren't a lot of tall options that were also big. Well, I don't know how to the checkout, and spend a good 10 to 15 minutes in line, behind one lady who had tons of 'Kohl's cash' , and another who demanded that the cashier find her the correct size of the item that she picked out, in the wrong size. Instead of pulling the second lady out of line while what seemed to be a manager went and found the right size, the cashier just stood there not helping anybody else. It was such a...
