Never in my life will I go back here or recommend anyone to go here. Only one out of the 4 people I came in contact with was remotely pleasant, the other 3 seemed to be put out that I was there. My "doctor" came in to give me his diagnosis that confirmed (without a test, mind you) what I already told him was wrong, and then proceeded to prescribe me a medication I knew I wasn't able to take. I had to ask him LITERALLY 3 times, "are you sure I can take that?", and finally on the third time he flat out said "I don't know." He came back and told me, "turns out you were right, you can't take that." Awesome, thanks for almost prescribing me something that could have killed me. Oh, and the alternate med he wrote me a script for doesn't even exist anymore. What an absolute hack! On top of that, the $300 bill magically turned into almost $2000 somehow - itemized before insurance it was over $5k for less than a half hour and only my blood pressure taken - that's it. That's a shameful practice on the part of HCA - you're part of the health care problem in this country! I honestly should never have gone there, should have just gone across the street to CVS clinic and paid my $120 - at least they care there and actually seem to know what they're doing. I recommend anyone else thinking of going here does...
Read moreI just had the best experience at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital. Its the new ER on the corner of McGregor and 1792. I stopped in there on my way home from work cuz I was having chest pains. Place was empty. They got me in right away and in less than 2 hours I was able to get a full metabolic panel done as well as liver panel. The best part was the phlebotomist Jasmine. She was able to find a vein on the first try. For anyone that is an ex IV user you know that's impressive. Ive been sober over 6 years and this was very important to me. Ive had nothing but problems with phlebotomists ERs but not here. Turns out I'm a physically healthy 44-year-old from what they can tell with a pulled muscle in my chest 🥴 Mentally not so much 🤦♀️
I'm sharing this because if any of you God forbid have to go to the ER and actually want to be treated like a human this is the one to go to. If you know me you know I hate doctors. I hate going to the hospital. I hate everything about the medical system but if I ever end up in the ER again this is the only one I will go to from now on. Thank you to the night shift staff Nurse Odalys, Jasmine, Doctor Albert and the awesome night shift manager that I forgot to get her name. What a great...
Read moreThe Drs. on the night shift and the nurses on the day shift do not communicate well. My dog had internal bleeding and had a hemangiosarcoma. Had an initial spleenectomy and was misdiagnosed by the lab as a hemangioma. When he developed another internal bleed 3 weeks later. The night Dr. stated that the report said they may do another test. He stated that he left a note for the nurses on the day shift to call the lab to see if it was done. My dog and I were sent to Blue Pearl in Maitland. The Dr. there called them. They refused to call the lab. The Dr. there called to find out. This was prior to making a decision to do exploratory surgery. Not only had the lab misdiagnosed-they refused to call the next hospital had to do it. He had cancer and died 2 weeks and 3 days after surgery. Judge the story...
