I legitimately don’t understand why I ever thought it was a good idea to do business with them. The high interest rates and principal balance are absolutely ridiculous. The sales staff is rude and inconsiderate. They’ll make sure to harass you over a missed $8.06 payment caused by a simple mistake. Even if you call in to pay, they aren’t interested in helping—unless they can try to sell you something.
The only reason I went through them again was because they had an item I badly needed. I’ll just return the furniture and go to IKEA instead. They refuse to take accountability for their mistakes and will argue about it. I have a great account history and did business with them a lot about 10 years ago, but you can tell store quality and leadership have gone downhill. Rick was a fantastic store leader who always took care of his customers and staff.
I will no longer do business with Showplace Rent-to-Own, and I urge everyone else to take their accounts to Rent-A-Center if you desperately need an item. Otherwise, save up cash and buy things outright. IF THEY PICKUP AN ITEM MAKE SURE THEY GET ALL OF THE PIECES. I now have to go out of my way to go bring them back parts to an item that we're sitting with the original product ready to be taken negligence...
Read moreOct. 23 - Everyone should know this absurdity before renting to own - you have to provide four references, preferably family - in order to rent something. I didn't even want to rent. I wanted to buy it outright. I paid the money down on the web and called the store to arrange delivery. When I called that's when I learned I had to have four references in order to buy something, to pay cash in full and have it delivered on day one. So I said no, I'll go somewhere else. That was three weeks ago. They still won't give back the money I put down when I tried to make the initial purchase on the Internet, and I am having to fight with them for it. Pretty simple to me - I didn't buy anything, they didn't deliver anything to me, so why should they get to steal my money? Nov. 21 - They still will not return money despite not buying anything. December 12 - still no money. Have opened up a BBB case. That's great. A half hearted response. Could I have my money please? It's been 6 months and you still have my money, like a thief in the night. Worst yet, your management continues to ignore my calls. Grow a pair and give back the...
Read moreThe sales guy was annoying. We were the only ones in the store and I just wanted to look around but it was hard to with the dude following us around the store like a puppy. We didn't see anything we liked in the store but did find something online so we went ahead and went through the application process. I guess the application was approved because the store associate called to schedule the delivery once they got the furniture in to their location. Delivery was scheduled the next day with a 2 hour time frame. a couple hours before the delivery the rudest associate ( a female) called to say they declined out application and we would not be getting the furniture. We had already gotten our living room together that morning in preparation for the delivery including throwing our old sofa away. Why schedule a delivery with us before being all the...
