New review....avoid this store.
I went in the other night to buy some whiskey. I went to the bourbon aisle, and was excited to see several bottles I wanted to purchase. Then I looked at the prices. They were anywhere from 25% over MSRP, to DOUBLE in price! I asked Michael, the manager about it, and he proudly told me that he told the owner to raise the prices because a customer told him before that he buys some bottles to resell at a higher price illegally. He said they should just mark them up as high as they can to make the money themselves. Here's the problem with that. I'm well versed in economics, capitalism, etc. What they've done is lose me as a customer completely. They may make an extra $50-$100 on some of those bottles once or twice a year, but I won't spend the thousands a year I spend on booze at their store. They are stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. They could have a lottery system as a rewards program, etc to distribute those in demand bottles, but instead they choose to gouge. Not me. I urge you to spend your money elsewhere where you are valued as a customer. The makers of these bottles have asked that they not be marked up like this, but they can't control what the stores do on an individual basis. I'll let the distillery know my thoughts and issues, and hopefully they will restrict the allocation of those labels from this store. It's a terrible way of doing business to piss off high...
Read moreTheir website and DoorDash states the THC drinks, Cantrip, are priced lowered than what they offer in the store and then there was another lady that stated she saw whisky (on the website) a much lowered priced than it was in store. If you’ve driven out of the way, because of the pricing and they would not honor it, you can report the store to ‘NJ Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control’ and write it was deceptive behavior to get people to come to their store. Just my two cents. Looks like a lot of items are miss priced online than what they’ll honor in store, it also helps the location update their shit on a more...
Read moreI love this place! Their staff is so knowledgeable about all things alcohol. Not being a wine connoisseur, I often find myself in need of a bottle of wine with no clue what to buy. Their 'wine guy' can ask me two or three key questions, and within seconds point me in the direction of the perfect bottle. OR, when I'm looking for some sort of obscure liqueur that I need for a trendy cocktail recipe, I can simply ask and it will be in my hands in seconds. In addition, it's rare indeed for them to tell me that they don't have something. If it's alcohol and you need it, there's a 99% certainty Canal's...
