My one star review is for Harbor freight's policy of personal information harvesting. Also the cost of battery replacement for their power tools.
They believe that for the privilege of my shopping there they deserve to get my phone number. If I don't give it to them, they cop an attitude and give the excuse that it assists with returns. Well this is why I keep my receipts. But even with a receipt they require a phone number and a signature. I despise this and just give a random number which defeats their purpose and makes providing a number nonsensical. I also found that even when their website says they have a product in store, there is a chance the store doesn't have it and has never had it.
I also find their warranty on power tools to be below industry standards. In addition, while their bare tool prices are inexpensive, their batteries for these tools are expensive when compared to other brands. This leads me to believe they are in the battery business as most don't consider the cost of replacing batteries when they buy cheap tools.
My complaints are well documented and confirmed by thousands of other people so this is not new to Harbor freight and shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. They are in the personal information harvesting business and selling cheap low quality products, either the tools or the batteries. There's nothing wrong with this as long as they're open and up front about it, but they're not. I'm not saying don't support this business but beware and don't give them your personal information. If they won't let you return something without providing your personal information, I would go to the credit card company and dispute it saying they refuse to take a return without me providing my personal information. Also, be aware that unless you want a cheap tool with no warranty service, you may get a great tool but in the event you don't, it may be less expensive to buy a better quality product especially if the better product has better quality less...
Read moreA great place to buy inexpensive tools and equipment for your home owner who is interested in craft and home stoliff. They are considerably less expensive than Home Depot but they are not as good. It you must have a drill to use on rare occasions, then this is the best way to go. A drill costs as little as 20 bucks for a cordless drill there are at least 93 drill for sale under 50 bucks. But thaare not as good as dewalt Drill which starts at three or four times the price. If you are a weekend worrier then this is the best place to go. But if you are a professional. Stay away. You can come in and get all the stuff you need. From work pencils to work tarps paint brushes to al sorts of electric items. They must have a monopoly on cheap Chinese tools and Equipment. I especially love their special sales because not only they discount stuff for a dollar to 20! But you can use a 10-20% discount ad or for an annual fee join their discount discount club where you can get great deals and specials. I love browsing the store for my tools and supplies because where else can you buy batteries practically for nothing I must confess that if I needed an out door extension cord this is the only place I would shop. Instead of using a Handiman to power wash my driveway, I bought, on sale a power washer for less than the cost of the Handiman one time charge. When I needed a compressor where did I go: harbor freight! They are well cheaper than Amazon but they charge both salee tax...
Read moreYo, listen up fellow grease monkeys - if you're in the market for some new tools, you gotta check out Harbor Freight. I recently hit up their store, and let me tell you, I was blown away.
First off, the selection is insane. They've got everything from sockets to wrenches to impact drivers, and all the tools are top-quality. As a mechanic, I know my way around a tool set, and I gotta say, these are some seriously legit tools. They're built to last, and they're priced super competitively, so you're getting a bang for your buck.
And the staff at Harbor Freight? They know their stuff. I had some questions about a particular tool, and the dude working in the tool section was super helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to steer me in the right direction and make sure I got exactly what I needed.
But the best part about Harbor Freight? The prices, man. They've got some of the best deals around, and they're always running sales and promotions. Plus, they've got this killer rewards program that lets you earn points for every purchase you make, which you can then use towards even more tools.
The only downside to Harbor Freight is that sometimes the lines can get pretty long. But honestly, that's a small price to pay for such high-quality tools at such low prices.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Harbor Freight to any mechanic or DIY enthusiast out there. They've got everything you need, and then some. 5...
