The health department needs to shut down this store. Here is why. I was in the store last night and a customer had two dogs on a leash walking in the store. This person wasn't blind nor disabled. The dog was clearly a pet. Another next customer had their dog on a leash. This customer wasn't blind nor disabled. The dog was clearly a pet. This type of issues can pose a safety issue. Apparently managment isn't familiar with ADA policy on service animals. Here it is: How “Service Animal” Is Defined Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. The last line says it all " Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. Here is State of Florida's policy;Florida Statute 413.08 similarly defines a service animal as an animal that is trained to perform tasks for an individual with a disability. In places of public accommodation a service animal is defined as a dog or miniature horse. The tasks may include, but are not limited to, guiding a person who is visually impaired or blind, alerting a person who is deaf or hard of hearing, pulling a wheelchair, assisting with mobility or balance, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, retrieving objects, alerting an individual to the presence of allergens, providing physical support and assistance with balance and stability to an individual with a mobility disability, helping an individual with a psychiatric or neurological disability by preventing or interrupting impulsive or destructive behaviors, reminding an individual with mental illness to take prescribed medications, or calming an individual with posttraumatic stress disorder during an anxiety attack. A service animal is not a pet. Again, the last line says it all " A service animal is not a pet. The dogs should not have been allowed in the store. Shame on the management and staff for allowing this. The store manager needs to be terminated for allowing this to take place. The store employees who saw this and didn't do anything need to be disciplined. Is this a retail store or a dog park? I hope the health department takes note of this. This store needs to...
Read moreI love going to Home Depot, it is my every visit experience that you need to spend lots of unnecessary time getting support from anyone in a department. This store also has the damaging habit of its associates not even desiring to try and help you if it's outside of their department; out of the box.
They remind me of the yesteryear CompUSA as they were very comparable. Great products, sensible prices, appalling customer service, miserable department staff. Why must I waste half my visit looking for help, and only then to find someone irritated to help? Brick and Mortar, WAKE UP. The only reason we go to your stores anymore is that we may not want to pay to ship, need it now, we are a professional who can bill someone for the time we spend baking out our boots watching for you. In the day of two-day delivery, this store is terrible.
I would like to recommend Ace Hardware, a new store just opened a mile down east on Atlantic Ave, and there is one in downtown Delray. I have never been to an Ace Hardware where people fell over themselves to help everyone. They may not have as many choices as they are often smaller (The new one I mention is pretty big) and even cost a bit more, but my time is also money, as yours should be, even if your just a consumer making a purchase for a DIY project.
Why trade a minute of your world hunting employee assistance. Must our lives must be worth something? Why else would we sell it an hour at a time if we didn't need it to survive, looking forward to being with our families at the end of the day? To everyone except the extream penny pincher.
Home Depot does carry quality products and the occatoinal, knollegeble associate, I do not want to say its everyone. It would behove someone at the top to dress down and come shopping and see forthemselves it's not just the bottom line. Excellent customer service builds loyaty, moreso than special offers and a credit card owned and managed...
Read moreUnbelievable experience as I get a complete attitude and very poor customer service ALIYAH!!! A young child should not work customer service if they don’t have people skills and know how to interact with customers in a respectful way 😢. I happen to shop at this location and spend quite alot of money here and today- - again- so unbelievably that I surely wasn’t even wasting my time with this child telling me I can’t return the plants I brought in and even w the receipt no less? Hmmm- perhaps employees need to be a little more familiar with the company’s return policy? Because plants dead or alive are returnable!! Some to even have a yr expiration. This one doesn’t even greet me as a customer, but as I had each plant (that were infested w white flies)in separate bags and labeled accoxrrdingly with the correct bar code , she tells me I can’t return these plants? When I was taken back a little shocked, and then began to question her- she just rudely responds that I can’t return these plants w just dirt?? And then says that her manger said so. Number one- hmm did she open each bag and verify each plant (and yes w soil)? Or proceed to get the manager? Of course not. When I proceeded to speak w a manager, I’m now waiting for over 10 minutes and nothing. I proceed back to this girls location to verify her name and then just went to the higher level of calling corporate. When given the details, I was asked to confirm the store locator number and then gave my info off the receipt given and without any questions asked- my credit card was refunded. And I was also issued a Home Depot credit in the amount of $50 for my dissatisfaction and unfortunate experience Perhaps a little advice to any management working at this store- perhaps redirect how your employees act towards a customer. ALIYAH- by far was completely...
