Update 8/25/2021: It's the 5 day a week go to breakfast spot for my father. In order to see him, I had to accept his choice of breakfast spots. I have been going back regularly and they seem to have cleaned up the place. Food and staff have been friendlier and the food is more consistent. Where else can you get a decent breakfast with coffee for $4.99.
Update 5/31/2021:
Never will go back again. Table had flies and wait staff & management did not care, they actually were angered with my bringing it to their attention. This place started off with an initial low star rating and over the past year has grown on me to get a 3.5 star rating. This week I was actually going to edit my review to 4 stars, then today happened. Halfway through our meal we noticed an over abundance of small flies on an around our table. It was early and the restaurant was empty so we moved to another table and that immediately triggered the waitress to get angry and ask why we moved. We told her and her brilliant reply was that there would be flies at that table too. I went to the Owner / manager to explain our move and he could care less a bout the flies and more concerned about replacing 3 paper place mats. We asked for 1 to go coffee cup and he told us that would be $2.00 for a Styrofoam cup. We handed him the money from the tip money and left. The waitress then handed me the rest of the tip and said that I needed it more than she does. They told us never to come back again and I replied no problem. They need to reevaluate their cleanliness issues and negative attitude. If you read my original review you see that I did like the place. I have been going there at least 2 times a week over the past year.
Decent breakfast special:$4.99 2 eggs, potatoes, bagel and coffee. Potatoes were cold and onions undercooked like they were added after. Very good...
Read moreI had high hope for this place. It's an unassuming decent sized place, and was filled with people when we arrived. I took that as a good sign. The prices are reasonable -- that is, if you feel that paying any price for bad food is reasonable. I ordered something as basic as you can get, mushroom barley soup and turkey dinner over stuffing.
Nothing appears to be cooked in house. Everything was over salted and underflavored. Everything seemed to have the same undertaste of some seasoning I could not identify. The mushroom barley soup was sour and, if there was any flavor, it was the aforementioned seasoning & salt. Upon telling the server that the soup was horrible, it was quickly exchanged for the matzoh ball soup with no argument. The replacement soup was just as horrible--same over saltiness and powerful seasoning.
Then the entree came. I didn't really think there was anything that could be done to ruin the flavor of turkey, but there it was--that seasoning again. The stuffing was a gluey mess of bread with raisons, lots of salt and no other flavor. The gravy (thank goodness it come separately), was--you guessed it, oversalted and seasoned with the same spice.
I did not enjoy the experience at all and, to add insult to injury, when we got to the cash register, they had a small sign (easily missed) stating they would add 4% on credit card sales. This should not be something you find out when you are paying. I looked at the website before going, and there was no mention of this. There was no warning on the menu itself, as should have been. This is outrageous. Had we known beforehand (and had I known how bad the food would be), we would have chosen another place to dine. If we had seen it on a sign on entry or on the menu, we would have left and gone to the alternate we were...
Read moreI usually start my reviews by stating ,I have no affilation with the Bagel Tree Restaurant in Delray Beach, other than being an all year round customer for 20+ years, new owners and previous owners. In my 20+ years ,I never wrote them a negative review and this is a terrible review. IT'S not about the food,My Mom and I went for lunch yesterday and it was quite crowded. THE hostess who I know now a year never knew her name, tried to sit us near opening of kitchen,me no problem, my Mom preferences away. So I spot a clean table for two though connected to a dirty table. So Mom and I walk to table, mom with walker, me a cane and sit down.I take Moms walker and put it out of other patron's way. Then the hostest, looks like she is a kid, possibly mexican though latin, and at first thought she was joking, but she put her finger up towards my face and just started yelling, then yelling at my Mom the table isn't clean.I was taken aback, I then see one of the owners Manny, who basically my family and friends help keep their doors open during pandemic and he doesn’t say a word actually laughed!! At this point I tell my Mom, my friend and I eat Breakfast here 3x a week and give MANNY AN OWNER $5.00 TIPS,for 17 dollar breakfasts. My Mom and I decided why do you frequent this place, and now they lost our business, and guarantee that turns into 20 then thirty and when all the snowbirds go home they will be begging for business. Though we made up our mind to never go again, and 🤔 really looking back, I kept my mouth shut, knowing the PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD, JUST MY REVIEWS ALONE ARE PRETTY POWEFUL ,THOUGH WORD OF MOUTH ADDED, JUAN AND MANNY you should of backed up your patrons, and remember who helped keep your doors open during pandemic!! GOOD LUCK...
