Wish I lived closer. Great prices and low sugar items. On Second thought... Today's experience wasn't up to par. Ordered a cornbeef sandwich. The guy behind the counter never asked me if I wanted it hot. The lady behind me ordered corned beef sliced. He asked her if she wanted lean corned beef. What about me. I wanted rye bread. No, only wheat which was practically stale. Not soft and fluffy. The corned beef wasn't that good either. Price went up from $6.99 to $7.99. Still reasonable but going up. The lady at the cash register was a dead fish. Never thanked me or Welcomed me to come back. Nonetheless, the Jewish grocery store products are cheaper than most. Mrs. Adler's Gefilte Fish $4.49 for a jar. The Streits egg matzah is $2.00. And they have Sugar Free Ubet Chocolate. Rarely in the neighborhood, but if I am heading home to Broward I may still grab and go with some of my ethnic food for old times sake. Used to be better. Going downhill fast. I need my deli on Rye or Pumpernickel. Wheat just don't cut it. The Saga continues. Two weeks later. Dropped customer close by. So I stopped over here. Picked up a few items. Then pulled the ticket for the counter. I thought I heard my number just as I pulled the ticket. Didn't respond quickly. When I did, the Indian guy rolled his eyes. I wanted a knish heated up. Oh, we don't do that here. Only hotdogs. F U. What does it take to buy a microwave and appease the customer. More service and less attitude jerks. Back again after many years. Don't get up here much. Corned Beef Sandwich now more than $10. Par for the course. Had the tongue as I haven't had tongue in some 40+ years. They wouldn't heat it up and it has no taste.. I've been updating throughout the years. Years ago, I like this place. The corned beef was good and cheap. But I realize after so many years going here maybe twice a year, most of the Indian family who own and work here are really rude. They won't heat things up for you and sneakily charge you to use credit. I think yesterday was my last...
Read moreFirst, the only reason I gave one star is because you can't give a zero. They have a large variety of ethnic foods, which is what brings in their large crowds. Compared to some other REAL delis their food is just mediocre, but their prices may be more reasonable. BUT if your idea of having fun is standing on line at a deli counter or checking out with the cashier and you enjoy being abused, then this is the place for you! I recently witnessed a screaming match with an elderly woman who said that her number was next on line and the man behind the counter yelled at her and told her that he's the only one that is allowed to call numbers. A back and forth yelling match ensured and another man helped her. When she complained to him about being disrespected he told her to contact HR, which was meant to be condescending. I asked for very thin slices of cheese and asked to see the first slice - he refused to give it to me to see and told me,"I wasn't allowed to have it". So, I refused the cheese order. I asked for turkey breast and he placed it on top of the counter where I couldn't reach it. I asked for another sliced meat and he told me he wouldn't give it to me until I took the turkey off of the counter first. The very thin sliced turkey breast I requested was actually very thickly sliced which I didn't realize until I returned home. I believe he did it on purpose. I would return it but they would probably throw me out of the store! The last time I was there he asked me where I was from before he took my order. I don't understand why people patronize this place. They are abusive and ungrateful for the business that these local people provide them. I addition, they added a 2.99% surcharge for using your credit card. Nothing is worth this experience. I am done with this place for good and you...
Read moreBought an assortment of food for Rosh Hashanah! When we dived into their matzah ball soup we were surprised to find that you needed a blow torch or hammer and chisel to even chip the balls. The soup was fine but the matzah balls were frozen so we tossed them. I came back after hurricane Irma to get some kind of compensation for my troubles. There was a staunch rigid unapproachable elderly man who i've seen on numerous occasions. I brought up my displeasure to his attention and he dismissed me when I asked for not my money back but just a credit for $5.29; what I paid. He said he was not the boss; only the manager. As manager you would think that he had the authority to give a measly credit of $5.29. Said he had to ask the owner. Comes back out and said that he could not do it without the soup.He didn't care if he lost a daily customer for a paltry $5.29. Now I went in the back of the store and approached the owner with the same smug response. I can't believe they would lose a good customer over such a minute amount of money. I guess I should've brought in the rancid soup and rock hard balls to prove my point! The people that operate this establishment are horrific businessman as i've viewed from other posts with their smug and condescending attitudes to their bread and butter ethnic primarily Jewish persuasion customers. Those patrons should boycott the Famous until they clean house and get more respectful personnel and service providers that don't act like they're doing you a favor when...
