I'll change this one star review after the entire produce department stops being rancid/molded/fuzzy.
5 times I ordered pickup, all 5 times my produce and money went in the trash. I thought if I went in person maybe I'd get better fruit. Well, now I've seen in person, I get moldy fruit (and veggies) because that's all that's there. There is nothing fresh/not visibly growing fuzz. And yes, you can smell the fruit is past it's prime.
Second question, if the employees are staring at the exact same fuzzy items I am, why are they not being removed? And why are you putting more moldy produce on top of the already bad produce? Behind making someone sick, you do realize this health issue could literally drop a person yes? No issues with people eating straight mold? Or losing out on this much money after that many trips having to throw everything in the trash? Who's responsible for it being THAT bad? That was embarrassing to see and I don't even work here. I hope the health department pays a visit since this store very clearly needs the advice and help.
(Yes I did make mention of it, no I don't think anyone cares or did anything. This is an everyday problem do it's apparently just normal now)
Pretty concerning because if you're not checking the produce, what else in the store is unsafe? (Answer? Everything! Got food poisoning from a packaged soup that was NOT past expiry because apparently there were temp changes before I consumed it. Supposed to have stayed cold, it clearly didn't, Stopped eating immediately after realizing it was SOUR, still got sick. So thanks for making me throw everything away, lose money, and get food poisoning. Double fun it was money on ebt that had to be trashed. Way...
Read moreAldi is the best supermarket on the planet. The produce alone is the worth the visit and Aldi Finds are almost dollar store cheap and amazing quality. Everything from a $24 drill that I've had for a year it's not for a working carpenter however for DIY projects it's perfect. My $36 Aldi air fryer is my all time favorite purchase first one lasted a year and a half before the timer/power switch starting getting a mind of its own. Second Air Fryer was on sale and it performing even better if that's possible. Note the first one was used just about every day on everything from baking bread to meatloaf.
Aldi carries national brands but you should avoid them and here's why; the house brands are better and less than half the price. Now we get to the nugget the TLDR folks are going to miss. Aldi is a German company, that also owns Trader Joe's. The quality of the Aldi house brands is comparable to Trader Joe's. Now for the best part if you try something and you don't like it you can return it. So there is no risk. I've only gotten a couple of things I didn't like and couldn't bring myself to actually return them.
That's my favorite thing about Aldi it's an adventure, want to try shaved ribeye you can at zero risk. You really should try it because the shaved ribeye is insanely good. If you want to buy a memory foam mattress that seems like an impossibly good deal you can. No risk, I did and again it was the best matress ever, I'm writing this review lying on it.
Oh did I mention the people that work their are polite, helpful and give that Costco/Trader Joe's feeling that they enjoy being at work. Always bring a quarter and enjoy...
Read moreI spend a lot on groceries, pet food, gifts, & food donations.
First Aldi experience, spent over an hour on 1-13-'17:
Aldi boxes fell apart on 3 sides when lifted twice. (TAKE TAPE & KNIFE.) Plus totes as I did. (But sadly, Not enough)
Good prices & selection of items. Disorganized display, a jumble, no logic to location of food items.
However, NO help from curt staffmember; the guy took my 1st cart away when 2nd cart was too full, leaving me, an elder, stranded with no help. First time there will be my last.
FOR AWHILE. Will return to see if staff is more human next time.
I am strong and can willingly lift and pack my own but not when my cart has no room and one cart apparently is the limit; I was doing fine until then, just needed 5 min. to get it all to my car nearby in handicapped area. (COPD). THEN he could have had my cart.
They were not busy, many, many carts were available for others on both sides of the entrance. The lousy $ .25 was not an issue. (But I think that is a good idea to retain them in good shape)
The male staff mbr walked off with my original cart so I asked for a little help (since he was reason I then needed it). He said to "use all the boxes I wanted" & walked off with my cart. I had to lift my heaviest items once again, balance it all and push an overloaded, unwieldy cart to my car.
I understand why they were not as busy as I had expected from 4-after 5 p.m. on a Friday. They allow rude attitude. Sams or Kroger will get...
