Food took a long time to be prepared. It delayed the delivery process by 30+ minutes. I paid UberEats an extra fee for a quicker delivery. (The fee could not be refunded because J Sushi was the cause of delay in my delivery.) When the food finally arrived it was not completely cooked all the way. (Imagine your food taking an extra 30 mins to be delivered to you and when you get it the order isn’t right.) I ordered the seafood fried rice and a side of yum yum sauce. The fried rice was not cooked all the way. It was seafood fried rice at the top and steamed white rice at the bottom. I called J Sushi to express my displeasure with their service and I was met by a rude , condescending, and disrespectful hostess. I forgot her name, but she was working the phones at 5:53 pm 01/27/2024, because that is the time I called. She stereotyped me when I corrected her on the way to pronounce my name and assumed that I was saying the food wasn’t “seasoned” enough. Like who doesn’t know the difference between fried rice and steamed white rice. It’s not a matter of “season”. It is a matter of soy sauce. She responded to the situation like an imbecile. She lacks great customer service skills and is a deficit to J Sushi. Instead of thinking of ways she can satisfy me, because I am the customer, she only told me what she couldn’t do. Giving me the impression that she assumed I was making a false claim in order to get some extra food or the food and my money back. It saddens me to leave such a harsh review because I’ve ordered from J Sushi once before. I ordered the same thing as today, so I know how the seafood fried rice is normally made, and it was great! Hence the reason I ordered again today. However, today was such a let down that I will never order from here again and I’m so disappointed that I am leaving a review; I hardly ever leave reviews. I hope J Sushi makes some immediate changes to the kitchen and their host/hostess department if they are concerned with running a reputable business and satisfying their customers.
I really gave them a 1 star but since my first experience with them was so good I gave them...
Read moreNot my first time here alone or with groups but will certainly be the last.
Went to J Sushi after work and a workout at the gym across the street. There is a wall of half booth / half chair tables along the back side of the restaurant. All of the 4-seat tables were taken and only 2-seat tables remained and I requested seating at either one of them. Having ample experience eating at restaurants and using basic math skills, it seemed like a fair request since there was one of me and TWO two-seater tables with a booth-side available.
The waitress told me that "normally" they reserve those tables for larger parties but offered to ask for an exception. I thought it a bit odd but I deduced that they liked to shift the tables along that wall to accommodate larger parties but at this time, ALL of the larger 4-seat tables were taken, there was no one in line and there was no way that they would have been able to seat any parties larger than 2 people anyhow. I waited and watched as she approached the manager and returned to inform me that I could not sit at a booth-side two-seater but that I could sit at a two-seat table with chairs ONLY in the lobby. Having worked at the office all day and having just left the gym, that was not how I wanted to enjoy $35 of sushi. Seemingly perplexed, I scanned the seating situation again and took pause as I looked at TWO empty, two-seaters with a booth seat available then at the very same table offered to me in the center of the lobby, which seated the exact same number of people with chairs-only. Where I can certainly understand and appriciate policies, the rigidity defied logic.
I left hungry, grossly disappointed and found myself scanning other sushi restaurants that I've enjoyed. If this one is on your radar, you might also want to check out Komodo Loco (interesting set up here) near the square and Blue Ginger in Unicorn Lake. Both equally...
Read moreThe price point more or less matches the food and that's not a bad thing! The rolls were a little too "fishy" but props for putting the sashimi on top of ice, it was nice and fresh. I was not asked how I'd like my steak cooked and it was almost rare when brought out. Everything else I got with my hibachi meal was good despite that though.
I did not appreciate how rushed I felt by our server. He kept asking us if we'd like anything else while we were barely getting through our food. 2-3 times. He was also essentially bussing our table while we were still eating too. Going as far as taking our soy sauce jar and refilling it instead of waiting for us to leave. As we were packing our food to-go he almost took our waters away he was so impatient. As I was chewing the last of my food! I told him I'd like one more sip and he apologized but I thought that was super rude.
To be fair, we were the last customers but we were definitely not taking our time and made sure to leave at the exact time they close on the dot. We did not expect to be rushed out so quickly just so they could save 4-5 minutes shutting down. Maybe that's why one of the restrooms didn't have ANY hand soap. That really grossed me out. I don't think something like that would be passed over if they didn't act like they were in a hurry to get out of there.
I won't be back just for that. At least the other server was very nice. She at least seemed patient or at least gave off the impression that she wasn't in a hurry like...
