Update 2/18/25 Had an appointment with the younger lady PA the beginning of December, she said she would order an MRI and I would follow up. My follow up appointment came and they never sent the MRI so I canceled my follow up and told them they never reached out for the MRI 3 weeks later. They sent it then insurance denied it and wanted more notes(this brings us to middle of January)I brought them more notes and before they would resend the work order for the MRI to actually get done they told me I needed to make another appointment with the PA....for the same thing I saw her for without the MRI that they needed to send over. The scheduling seems a little scammy now to get fees. I paid you to send an MRI so I wouldve hoped you could've atleast done that from my first visit. I honestly would like someone to reach out. I brought my boyfriend here yesterday for a broken clavicle dropped $475 for xrays the ER already did and we mentioned that. Then after 30 mins we were told it would need surgery (we already knew that per the ER) and the Dr is in tomorrow.....here's the catch, we get to pay another $200 for our appointment today. Why didn't they just put us with the Dr on his first available appointment and save this extra $200..... front desk needs more training. This money grab is unacceptable.
Update 4/3/24 Conner is the best physical therapist I've ever had, Katie and Ann are so helpful and sweet. They have an amazing team!
I have had nothing but amazing experiences with DOC. I'm super excited to stay with them and meet Dr. Heinrich!
Update 12/7, followed Flowers to his new location at Texas Bone and Joint on Oak St. I don't recommend him any longer after waiting 2 hours and didn't get to see him during my appointment time, I walked out. He called and informed me I wasn't being considerate of his other patients time and pain. Thats all I needed to hear. You're just a number to him.
Update 9/29 Had my meniscus repair surgery with Dr. Flowers, I am beyond happy. This is my second meniscus repair on the same area, my first repair was a different Dr. in Denton, Dec. of 2020. I felt confident at the time of that surgery that I was getting decent after care. After having this amazing experience with Flowers and his team, I realized my last experience with a knee surgery was nowhere near as organized or professional as it should've been. This office is very helpful, very thorough and I am so happy I made the decision to try a new orthopedic surgeon. Jennifer, has been amazing with scheduling and follow up questions. I'm very excited to experience physical therapy with yall and continue to learn how to become healthier and stronger. Thank you all again!!!
5 stars for the PA Allred and for Kayla Smith the practice manager. I'm very pleased and was informed of the possible outcomes. They took their time and made me feel truly cared about even while in physical pain which they managed to help ease the pressure and helped me be able to straighten my leg more than when I crutched in. Very happy with finding...
Read moreTo start, The wait time was 1 hour before I got seen by a PA.
Both on my phone call to make the appointment and during my wait at the clinic I referred to seeing "the doctor" and at no point did anybody care to mention that I'd be seeing a PA, not a doctor.
The PA seemed to have limited knowledge regarding safety of x-rays while pregnant and was not able to direct me confidently on whether or not I should take one while 7 months pregnant.
I went in to the clinic due to pain in my ankle from a sprain from two weeks ago. I wanted to rule out a fracture since I still have pain after two weeks. The PA poked around my ankle and found that it's simply a sprain, she did not even specify what ligament was sprained. She said I'd be okay to walk on it and be able to go back to work full duty within a week. I explained to her that I am an Occupational Therapist who works in inpatient rehab and am required to do heavy lifting, including transferring patients. I also mentioned to her that the orthopedic doctor who I saw while on vacation (where where the sprain initially happen) mentioned I should be non-weight bearing for 6 weeks. The PA seemed not very confident and stated "I can see that". Ultimately, she gave me one week off work stating that she would have to reassess the situation in a week to see if I was still having pain. She Said that it was their policy and that they cannot give more than one week at a time because some people could take advantage of the situation.
I explained to her that I am a per-diem Occupational therapist and that I don't get any benefits from work and that I'm not looking for extended time off for the sake of getting benefits from work. I expressed my concern that I would not be able to do full duty with my ankle sprain and pregnancy on top of it within one week.
She then asked me to get formal documentation from my work for her to fill out in order for her to even consider giving more than one week off. The front desk receptionist then had the audacity to tell me that they would charge an additional $25 for them to fill out that paperwork. She also added " We are a business and we would need to charge for any paperwork that we would complete".
From what I gathered, this place cares less about you as a patient and more about making money. From my perspective, they're just looking to have me come in on a weekly basis to "assess the situation" so they can charge me each visit and simply give me another week off at a time.... They are a...
Read moreWhen scheduling my husbandâs appointment, we were informed that the cash pay price for a visit, a steroid injection, and draining of the fluid from his knee would be $475. My husband never received a steroid injection because it was not recommended for his situation, nor did they drain any fluid from his knee And we were still charged $475. I dropped it and moved on since they were able to get us in so quickly. The PA that we saw stated we needed to do a follow up MRI on my husbandâs knee as soon as possible to see if his meniscus tear had gotten any worse And told us that he would send an order to Gateway. My husband is unable to walk or work due to the severity of his injury, so when we called Gateway today, they stated they had no orders. We called DOC first thing in the morning to confirm, they sent the order, and the receptionist stated the doctor did not not finish, putting in his notes yesterday, and had not submitted the order. Yet, I asked her to confirm if it was with or without contrast because gateway could get us in tomorrow if it was without contrast, she said she needed to check with the provider, and she placed me on hold, then came back and confirmed it was without contrast, and that he would submit the order. I waited most of the day and they had still not sent it, so I called back and was told that the provider was unavailable and went home sick so they would not be able to send The order without the chart notes being completed, because insurance would not approve the order. I explained to them once again that we were cash pay so we did not need approval from insurance and again they told me they would go ahead and submit the order since we were cash pay. Now Gateway is closed and they still have no orders as of five minutes prior to closing, my husband will not be able to get in for a MRI now, and Monday is a holiday. DOC clearly does not care about how bad someone is in pain or how long they are unable to work or get help or answers. The front desk staff were all sitting around while we were there and on their phones, and when we were placed in a room we could hear them complaining about how they had a walk-in patient and did not want to take them and weâre joking about just sending them somewhere else or telling them that they couldnât help them. We wasted $475 and got absolutely...
