Had quite the negative experience at this store. I picked up my print order yesterday and it was incorrect, though I didn't realize it until after I returned home. I spoke to the print team on the phone and they verified it would be reworked as soon as possible. Upon returning to the store in the evening to pick it up, the print counter employee was quite rude and standoffish insisting that I'd placed another order in addition to the one that was being reworked for free. I was confused as she was to find my account charged again but even more confused by her accusational tone and refusal to move past an error that was likely the result of one of the other print shop employees who charged me twice and created another job by mistake. Instead she doubled down on it being my error and when I suggested she try and speak to customers in a more friendly manner she insisted that was her normal tone and then stormed off saying she wouldn't be spoken to like that, leaving me at the print counter alone. I went to the front checkout lines and had a manager sent over who had clearly already spoken to the disgruntled employee in the back and he halfheartedly apologized to me, a response which seemed disingenuous and more of an attempt to get me out of the store. Our conversation was much more cordial than the previous interaction but I did not believe he would do much to rectify the employee's poor behavior, so I called and complained to the day store manager today, Farhad (spelling?). He reassured me that he knew which employee I was describing in the initial encounter and that it was not the first time he'd dealt with these issues with her. In addition, I told him I was just looking to refund one of my items which was not cut to the specifications of my order (the day print team had got this right the first, despite printing single sided instead of double). He went above and beyond to refund me for the entire order (partially because as he admitted he wasn't sure how to just refund a single item) which I thought would be satisfactory for my trouble with the employee. Had the story ended there, this review would show 4/5 stars. Instead, he proceeded to call me back 5 minutes later after speaking to the initial employee on the phone and asked me if I cursed at her, to which I replied "no, absolutely not". The day manager then doubled down and said that both the initial employee and the evening manager I spoke to were adamant that I cursed at them, which shocked me not only that the two of them were lying but that this day manager, Farhad (spelling?), was now calling me back and accusing me of being rude to warrant this type of service. I told him, first of all, I would suspect her to be lying because if that were my employee her job would certainly be at stake. Secondly, when the evening manager came over and spoke to me separately, our conversation was nothing but warm and respectful as I laid out my concerns. For him to allege that I cursed at him is an outright lie, and I assured Farhad that my body language on their store CCTV would certainly reflect truth in my statements. Instead, Farhad remained accusational, saying the negative behavior by his employee would be somehow warranted if I had cursed at her. I was definitely upset when the initial employee was accusational and rude about the print order but I am not going to sit there, curse, and name-call like a child, I am instead going to have the issue dealt with like an adult by speaking with management whose job it is to handle these things. Instead, the management, Farhad and the evening manager in this case, proved to be just as emotional and ineffective as their subordinates. I explained to him how wild it was for him to even be calling me back. Regardless of my response, that is something I as a manager would have made a training point for that employee going forward instead of calling back and insisting to argue about it with the customer. When I asked to speak to a general manager or someone in charge of him, he told me there was none. I would not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt enter business establishments expecting confrontational experiences. This store in particular, should really look into initiating customer service training for their employees and management.
I entered this store on yesterday to pick up an online print order. When I walked in, there were about 5 employees stand around congregating at the retail counter. There was only one employee in the print and copy center, helping an elderly gentleman with self service whom later on claimed to be a manager. (Tim) The preview on my print online, and the selections of my print layout were not what I expected, and they could not be used. I went up to the retail counter; there was no greeting, but only stares indicating that receiving assistance was basically not an option here. The young lady that replied to my request for help shouldāve been a mime because I received my responses from assumptions based on her body language and attitude. She finally said āhe can help you over thereā, after a male employee with a bunch of tattoos and attitude walked over to the print center.
Long story short, Tim could not guide his employee properly, nor redirect him when he was not able to interact properly. I had to ask several times for a reprint or refund, and the employeeās attitude was unacceptable. I had to argue with him, he threw my ID on the counter, mumbled under his breath, and tried to say I couldnāt get a refund on tap pay (the tap pay refund was successful), had the nerve to tell me to just get out, and just overall did not conduct himself like he had a job description that included skills in customer service. After reading previous reviews, I experienced some of the same circumstances as others have mentioned, and wanted to express my concerns for the staff that contribute to the dissatisfaction of their customers.
Choose the route that creates a stress free work environment for yourself. You all honestly expect to have a good day at work with the kind of service and energy thatās portrayed here?
*There was a sign the print area stating that it closed early due to short staffing. I get it. The economy is crazy right now. But as a supervisor myself, I would much rather have an even shorter staff schedule, than to have staff shortening demand and redirecting my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Staples in Dallas, and immediately drove all the way to Denton. There is something so special about Office Depot in Denton. No matter how weird my requests are, your staff is so great about working with me and making sure I have everything perfect. They're always so patient too when I need to make adjustments to designs on the fly on my computer. The entire facility is so pleasant, clean, and nice. Before going to Staples in Dallas, I didn't realize how good I had it. The store is bright, the staff are so incredibly helpful and friendly. John bent over backwards and found ways to get me double sided business cards printed perfectly in less than a day. Glossy, perfectly cut out, for my Chief Operating Officer. He was so patient and went through all the types of papers and thickness, and glosses, and printed samples he hand cut himself. It's so shocking just how much the people care here. Such a life saver. This isn't the only project either. I trust coming to this store 10x more than doing a print job myself because the staff is so patient at helping me out and getting me what I need. It's service you don't see often for almost any company. It's not just a click and pay. It's an experience on getting the right materials, the right cuts, and high quality prints. The first time I came here was for my portfolio in college, and I came back to make my portfolio for my first design interview. High quality, every time. And, they'll find loopholes, such as using papers I wouldn't think to use to get desired brochures.
Also, I always need help looking for something. There's always help to find it too. I asked for business card holders, and the guy asked "wallet or table?" Glad he asked, because I needed both and they where different aisles. He took the time to also go over their selection - acrylic, and slightly better metal ones. Helped me with an opinion on exactly which one would look great on our tradeshow table.
Thank you, guys! And thank you, John! Made my day and my boss' day, if not our whole week and totally...
