40th & Colorado Station — Local services in Denver

This location is the second stop from Union Station on the RTD's University of Colorado A Line train to the Denver airport. It includes parking for 200 cars plus 12 bike lockers and 18 bike racks. Bus routes 24, 37, 40, and 44 connect to this location. Travel time to the airport is 28 minutes and to Union Station 10 minutes.

The signage on 40th Avenue pointing to this station is minimal and it is easy to miss the turn onto Jackson Street. The bus section is excellent, but the area for private vehicles to pick up or drop off passengers is very awkward. One must either back in or pull onto a dead-end road stub with no turn-around and then attempt to maneuver into the opposite direction. The RTD parking lot at this station is incredibly unsafe - we paid to park there for a few days and our car, along with multiple other cars, were victims of attempted motor vehicle theft. The exterior lock was busted and the ignition was drilled through, making the car undrivable. To make matters worse, when we arrived and discovered the damage, there were multiple suspicious men circling us in the parking lot while we waited for a tow. RTD has no cameras in these lots, and were unhelpful, unbothered, and unsurprised when I contacted them to try and identify the person(s) behind this. When filing our police report, Denver Police confirmed that break-ins and attempted motor vehicle thefts are a usual occurrence at this...

I have videos of certain buses leaving this station. That be deliberately passing over stops where homeless be people with valid transfers. I have videos of drivers being rude to riders and giving them wrong information. Supervisers need to start being present at these stops. And pray that the new drivers in training don’t get poisoned by the bad seeds in the industry. When they get paid hourly to do a job. At night is when this matter is the worst. Somethings needs to be done. No matter what experience they have while driving f the bus it is there duty to stop for all people at stops. No matter race or situation or hardship.
