City Donuts — Restaurant in Denver

The cake donut was very dry, even milk made it seem drier as the crumbs just separated more instead of absorbing the liquid (can be common with dried out pastries). The glazed donuts all seemed like they had been sitting out for hours even though it was a morning pick-up (both my partner and I tried different ones, and they were both stale...soft, but like at the end of the day after sitting in the teacher's lounge all day and then used as dessert after dinner soft). Maybe because we get donuts regularly and have for years, but it was not the quality people in the reviews talked about. When ordering a variety bakers dozen (which is the only type of bakers dozen you can order on ubereats), i asked for a couple of extra chocolate donuts. They gave me pretty much a whole box of chocolate donuts with only two being not chocolate. I didn't ask for the whole box to be chocolate. Half of these wont even be eaten. Also, I even spoke with the store worker himself who asked if we wanted bavarian cream filled. I said no. I then get all three of our "fancy" donuts as all Bavarian filled. Won't be coming back. I recently visited this local business for the first time since moving to, Denver, and i must say it truly is amazing! To put into context i arrived at 10am in the morning and boy did i not know how late i was. By this time the shop had gone low on much of its inventory - not due to lack of supply, but extreme demand. However, my experience was not in vain as i was able to try out other donuts and find out what all the rave was truly about.
