BDM Performance Exhaust — Local services in Denver

Good afternoon-

I’m not generally one to write reviews but I do feel it necessary to celebrate this small business in Denver, CO.

After recently paying off my truck, I decided that it was time to start using my payment money as fun money so I went on the hunt for a cat back system for my ‘15 Tundra. Amazon had some bolt on kits for $400-$700, as did eBay, but I wanted a welded system so I started calling around. One shop wanted $1,000+ which was just unreasonable. The shop by my house, that I’ve used for many of my hot rods over the years had the lowest price but they now use “imitation Flowmasters” and when I called them, the guy on the phone was abrupt, not personable, and didn’t really seem to want/need my business.

After having called Brian at BDM, on a closed business day mind you, I was not only impressed with his passion but his professionalism. Initially I had my appointment scheduled for Saturday but plans changed and I needed to come in today. With less than a day’s notice they were able get me in.

My Tundra pulled in as a great and powerful truck but left as a highly responsive, aggressive sounding, fun to drive experience on wheels!

I would, hands down, recommend BDM Performance Exhaust to anyone and am planning on bringing my ‘68 Cougar to them for a custom setup.

For the naysayers and less than 5-Star reviews: Everyone has bad days and is facing battles and challenges that you know nothing about. Be kind, always.

(Legit Direct Referral to Brian Lucero) - I have a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe after a good 6 months of buying the car from Magic Financing!!" TWO months shortly after "passing emissions". My Bank 1 & Bank 2 Catalytic Converter Manifolds went bad!!! He confirmed with me before ordering part and making decisions and he actually wanted me to do my homework before I decided any moves. He offered me A GREAT DEAL! - there were a few barriers to overcome during the process but no matter what he made things happen and was VERY COMMUNICATIVE. Only 2-3 days later my car was ready to go and RAN EVEN BETTER THEN BEFORE!!! " - My Most Favorite Details were: 1. He ALWAYS answered his phone or called immediately with news or updating information. 2. He was honest and fast 3. I've known and used this shop on about every truck I've had, and would rate Brian and the workmanship at a 3.5, until my most recent experience. The 3.5 score is due to poor communication and Brian's unwillingness to schedule firm appointments and honor them. It's always, 'just come down and we'll get ya taken care of.' I've done that before and sat for 2 hours before being seen. Sorry, my time is worth setting up an appointment so if you're unwilling or incapable of keeping a schedule that doesn't speak well of how you respect customers or your organization as a business. The 2 score is from my most recent experience. After having more than 5 systems done by Brian over the years, we negotiated a specific deal for my most recent truck and when I went to pick it up the price was significantly more and he wasn't even there to explain. I called him and he started waffling on what we had discussed and his big excuse was, 'you're still getting a screaming deal.' This just isn't the way I do business and I have not returned after more than 10 years of patronage. Other reviews have used the word dodgy and that's a perfect description. Hey, if you don't mind showing up and waiting/hoping they can get you in and their not being 100% clear and transparent up front on how much it will cost you, then this may be a good option for you.
