We went to Blue Sky on Monday 12/11 for my birthday. I chose this place as it had decent reviews (should have checked Yelp) and I wanted to pick something in the middle. We both got the hot stone pedicures. Worst pedicure I've had. Also my tech was terrible, you could tell he was sick, was not wearing his mask right, and was coughing and wiping his nose and kept leaving. The water starting was scolding hot and that's saying a lot as I LOVE hot water. He turned on the cold water and walked away. The water got cold itself sadly, and we had to yell for someone to turn it off as it almost overflowed. When you're paying $75 for a pedi you expect it to be nice. My partner had a tech a little better and his pedi seemed okay. They didn't do all the steps, my guy never put the fizzing ball in until after as he forgot. He didn't get my cuticles on my toes, or and treatment on the feet, that's why you get the updated pedicure andi didn't get that, he didn't file or cut my nails evenly, and then didn't polish evenly. I was so disappointed no long massage, didn't get the paraffin on my whole foot, and then had lotion still all over my feet when he said he was done. There were not really other customers in but it was so rushed. My gel manicure was worse. He didn't do my cuticles again, didn't file evenly to shape and rushed through. He didn't paint to the edges, and was sloppy. He wouldn't even let my nails cure under the light the full time before he was having me switch my hands out. Even my partner commented on how fast he was going and didn't get why. Likely because he was sick. Or didn't care, he had walked away at one point to take a phone call. At the end I saw my thumb was already chipped on the side so I asked if he could add more Polish to cover it all. Instead he filed the side down. I saw the rest and knew it was a lost cause. My other thumb has bumps and again looked like the nails were going to chip. Most nails didn't have a constant top coat to the end and you could tell because of the shine. It is now Wednesday and my other nail chipped. I can see my other nails will be doing the same. It suck's because the color is so pretty, but the tech was horrible and it was as if he didn't have experience. While checking out I think it was the manager, asked what was wrong as he saw me looking at my nails. I said it was fine because I already tried to have the guy correct one and he took a lazy solution. There was no point, it was my birthday and we had lunch to get to. I didn't want to waste more time there. I feel bad as my partner paid over $200 plus tipped 18% on to of that which was not deserved in my opinion. These nails haven't even lasted a week. My toes are uneven and in the same boat. I had to file them myself to try and repair. I'm sure I could go back and have it redone, but why would I when there was no care in the first place? I wouldn't recommend this nail salon and wouldn't go back even to have them fix my nails. I'll have to go next week to my normal spot. This is what I get for cheating on my nail place. I will say the salon itself is aesthetic inside and looked nice. Overall poor quality and rushed when they didn't even have a bunch of customers. They had techs sitting so I don't get it. Not sure why you wouldn't want to give someone great quality nails. That's the whole point of a nail salon. Why you pay extra for gel! You expect them to last for at least a week, two normally. Mine didn't even...
Read moreThis was my second time going to this Nail Salon, The first time I went was good. It wasn’t great, but it was good and the staff was friendly, but obviously as a first time customer they want to be friendly.
Anyways, this morning I went in and I had booked a week ago a 9:30AM appointment with Tony only because I wasn’t satisfied with Jolee last time. And I see all of these amazing wonderful reviews about Tony so I wanted to book with him. There ended up being another customer at the same time and day with Tony as well. So I gave her my slot and ended up back with Jolee. I picked out the dip color and I wanted the same dip color for the mani & pedi. Well I ended up getting a shade / different color for my pedi which I really didn’t say anything. I just figured okay it’s comparable so it’s fine. But when it came to my Powder Dip Mani it was absolutely horrible. She charged me for a manicure, but didn’t even do anything close to a manicure. She put a totally different color as a dip. She didn’t say one word to me that entire time so it was super awkward. At the end of it, she didn’t trim my cuticles, my nails were twice as big because they were so packed on with five layers of powder dip, and they were clumpy and lumpy, and they were lopsided and crooked. And I know she can see how upset I was on my facial expressions because I was literally tearing up. She didn’t say a word to me. She just rushed me out to the cash register, and next thing I know I’m being charged for a Mani & Pedi a Gel and Powder Dip and when I questioned her about the charges, the guy next to her responded with “Well she put gel on your toes”… I was absolutely horrified, I didn’t even say anything because I didn’t want to cause a scene, because I’m not that type of person. I was crying out to my car and cried the entire way to the “Magic Nail Salon” on Colorado Blvd & Illif where I know them well and I walked in and I was in tears and the owner comforted me and she fixed my nails. Magic Nails literally had to takeoff the five layers of powdered dip because it was so clumpy and lumpy and lopsided that there was no fixing without having to redo the entire set.
At Blue Sky Nails They both seen I was horrified and they both seen the tears in my eyes and they still charged me for a horrible service. I am absolutely horrified with blue sky nails, and I would never recommend them to anyone and I will never be...
Read moreI just had the absolute worst manicure experience I have ever had at Blue Sky Nails and Lash off of Colorado Boulevard and Buchtel Boulevard. The person who did my nails, Tony, was sarcastic, rude, rough, and cut my cuticles with the electronic drill, among other things. He used the incorrect sizes for the glue on extensions for all 10 fingers, even leaving glue under my finger nails. He built my acrylic base in minutes, one coat, barely any buffing and shaping, and they are extremely bumpy, uneven, sticky and full of lint. My nails were at no point soaked, buffed, cut or the cuticles done. He left acrylic, lint and old nail polish under my nails. The shape is absolutely horrible and not one nail is the same length as the other. My right thumb, where the cuticle was cut with the electronic drill, hurts and would not stop bleeding. He placed cuticle oil on my hands after he was done and had me cure CUTICLE OIL. I will never be coming to this place again. It was my very first time coming here and will be my very last. I have gotten my nails done for years and in many salons, and this is by far the ONLY nightmare experience I’ve had. This was a horrible service and completely unacceptable. They have been open for 5 days, and I will never go again or recommend anyone go here. I did not complain in person because I prefer not to he confrontational, but after getting home and examining my nails even closer, I realized what I paid for. I hate to be this person because never in my life have I EVER left a review online for any establishment. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I will be removing these nails...
