Tattered Cover Book Store — Local services in Denver

Shout out to Amy who works there ! This summer was at DIA flying out to Phoenix at the same time my nephew, his girlfriend , and friend were flying into DIA from London . We all happened to also be on the A concourse and the timing to cross paths worked out . Coincidence but awesome !! Since the area at their gate was “closed off “ and they were diverted to customs , I would only be able to wave from the other side of a glass wall. I went to tattered cover bookstore in the A concourse to see if I could get some paper to write a welcome note to hold up against the glass for them to see . The only blank paper was found inside of an expensive hardback journal. I didn’t want to spend they much . I asked Amy - who works there - if she had any suggestions for me to make a sign for my nephew (I told her the story ). She thought for a moment and handed me a pretty good sized piece of poster board - must have been part of a package ?? And a black sharpie !! For free !! I went out into the concourse and made my welcome sign !!! Lots of hearts and smile faces and a little note . I returned the sharpie to her and proceeded to the arrival gate . I took a picture of the sign and sent it to my sister. I only mentioned my nephew and his girlfriend , and my sister texted back “his roommate is coming too”!! I ran back to the tattered cover - found Amy and borrowed the sharpie again and she said “just write ‘and Max’ “!! So I added his name and ran back to the gate ! I jumped up and down and waved and held the sign up against the glass wall for them to read - and lots of selfies were taken . Thank you AMY at tattered cover bookstore for making this welcoming event possible ! Her creativity and sense of celebration are appreciated and did not go unnoticed !! Tattered cover is a great bookstore with a longstanding iconic presence in Denver. Thanks...

my experience on C concourse this morning was terrible. Employees seem like they aren't well trained, very short and rude with customers and when I tried to contact the manager of the tattered cover in DIA he wasnt any help. He seemed more inept at his job then the actual employees (I don't blame the employees either, they're only a product of how they're trained).

Also found out this store tries to lie to people and tell them they are an actual tattered cover, this is owned by Hudson and they just use the name. I spoke with the actual tattered cover this morning after this incident. Train your employees and get better management and definitely don't try and con tourists who wanna shop local while in town and have your employees lie about who actually owns the store. Hudson is gross and that's definitely not...

Of all the places I've traveled, of all the places I've visited in different airports, no place is as bad as the Tattered Cover in DIA. All 3 of the stores, just terrible. I don't know what's going on with these stores but Jesus Christ the service I have received at all 3 is just abysmal. Then, you see on the wall these aren't even tattered covers, it's Hudson using the name and the Hudson News stores aren't much better. Whoever runs these needs to do a much better job, I will never return to any of these stores and if I see the Hudson sign in a store in the airport, I know...
