Novo Coffee — Restaurant in Denver

I went to the location in the B Gates it doesn't show up on the map but judging by the reviews it looks like many people had a similar experience here as well. Don't let the looks of this place deceive you, there were a couple more coffee shops surrounding this one, ones that I know will serve a good cup of coffee but I never heard of this place and it gave a local coffee shop vibe which typically means they'll serve a great cup of coffee. I paid just over $20 for a hot 16oz carmel latte and one of their turkey sandwiches. This wasn't a red flag for me because I assumed the food and coffee will be exceptionally out of this world at this price point. Quality isn't cheap after all, but boy was I wrong. The coffee was very bitter and tasted like cardboard, cardboard that a homeless person used as a bed in 90 degree weather. After a few sips it went straight into the trash the sandwich nearly had no flavor and tasted somewhat like the paper bag it came in. There are better options within a few hundred feet. I had an unpleasant experience here. My husband and I both ordered the vegan burritos. While we were waiting for our coffee to be made, it seemed like only one out of four employees were working. After we got our coffees, the guy asked if we were waiting for anything else and we said yes to vegan burritos. To which we realized everyone behind us was also waiting and the other guy who was supposed to be making them just wasn’t paying attention. Once we got our burritos, I took a bite and noticed there was cheese in it. My husband went back to the guy and said I think you gave us the veggie ones not the vegan ones. He said “I gave you what you ordered, if you don’t like it, throw them out.” And turned around. The attitude was super aggressive and came out of nowhere. When my partner tried to let him know there was a difference between the veggie and vegan ones. He completely ignored him so I had to ask one of the other employees. I wish I could give zero stars. I ordered a large mocha ($9). I noticed that the shot was poured then forgot about as the barista was distracted with something other than my drink. It sat for an extended amount of time before she even returned to steam the milk. I requested a new shot. I have experience as a barista and watched the color turn black as the espresso died. The barista argued with me that it makes no difference. I kindly requested a new espresso shot. This is almost a $10 cup of coffee and I've been traveling for 12 hours, I'd like a decent espresso shot too keep me awake as I drive another two hours on get little sleep. The barista rolled her eyes as she poured the fully black shot out. When she remade it, she did not add any espresso and made it at a kids temp (I paid for hot). So, I got a luke-warm hot chocolate due to her poor customer service. And it tasted horrible. I did not taste any mocha, just slightly warmed milk. I threw it away.
