So you want to eat in the Denver airport and feel like your in an actual restaurant. Mesa Verde Bar and Grill may be just the place for you and your south-western craving. They have lots of local spirits and beers, and my server was fairly knowledgeable about them. When I was looking for a bourbon recommendation, she pointed me towards the award winning 291which tasted great from beginning to end. They’re nice enough to label items which are gluten free right on the menu (would love a similar icon showing me right away what is vegetarian as it is a meat heavy menu.) I landed on the street tacos, choosing the portobello mushroom as the filling. These are served three up with black beans and rice. It definitely filled me up though the portobellos were a little salty. Overall it wasn’t bad along with the tomatoes and onions it came with. I think some kind of dressing would have brought it together more and tempered the saltiness. It came with rice which had a nice subtle lime taste to it, and beans which were basic and did their job. They’e got a couple other vegetarian options including cheese enchiladas, a veggie burrito, and a couple of entree sized salads so if you have that diet, like I do, and you’re in the mood for one of those things in a nice atmosphere with a friendly staff, this place might do the trick for you.

As far as I can tell, the Mesa Verde Bar and Grill is the only one of it's kind and can only be found at Denver International. Located in Concourse A on the mezzanine level, Mesa Verde seems to be the spot for layovers. And I did exactly that for a couple of drinks. My first drink was a Michelada, a Mexican cocktail combing your Mexican beer of choice, tomato juice, a bunch of sauces, spices, and lime juice amongst other things. On hot days it's refreshing, with Mexican food it's perfect. The version I had from Mesa Verde was good and spicy, though light on the sauces and tomato juice. There are many ways to make a Michelada and theirs was different but good. My next drink was completely unexpected. I wanted to get a drink popular in Denver and Google gave me the Colorado Bulldog. I'm pretty sure the Dude from the Big Lebowski would drink this. It has a similar flavor profile and ingredients - it was good and I would definitely get it again. Overall, I had a great time at the Mesa Verde bar getting into several conversations with others around me. Check this place out.

Perhaps I arrived on a bad day. After I got my lunch, employees advised that the chef walked out and off the job after I ordered my food. Super weird. Even if it’s true, shouldn’t that be kept internally? Maybe it was a joke? The whole event felt über odd. Went with a chili cheese dog and I regret it. The only flavor is salt and the chili wasn’t put on the hot dog, but served separately. The cashier told me to, “Drink soup,” when I asked for a spoon. Walked to the restaurant/ bar side and the greeter told me, “You can’t bring your food in and if you sit here, you gotta buy something.” I explained that the food box was from Mesa Verde and she started talking under her breath. I hope they have a team meeting and do a quick reset of expectations and customer service excellence. I Love utilizing Google Maps to promote independent businesses and take pride in doing what I can to help people following their passion. I did not encounter a single soul who appeared to care, much less take pride in their role. I’ll never visit again.

We stopped in for supper in between flights. We were seated and placed our order for appetizer in an average timeframe. Once our food arrived and drinks our waiter Tremayne came back once. We literally sat there for more than an hour and he never came back to check on us, did we want something more than appetizers, did we want another drink, did we need our check…nothing! Had we needed to leave for a flight we may have missed it because of this service! He was rude once I had to go stand at the entrance and ask the manager if she could have him bring our check because we needed to go. I left the restaurant to use the restroom on that level and when I got back my husband was still waiting on the ticket and I had to walk the entire level to find the restroom. He rudely asked us (loudly) if we had a problem with his service…feeling very uncomfortable we paid our check with no tip and he confronted us about it. I went to the other side of the restaurant hoping he wouldn’t see me… and he followed me! One of the worst waiter experiences I have ever had!!! As I’m talking to yet another manager trying to explain he pushed his way in and continued to be rude while the manager never did a thing to him! He is yelling as I walk away with another server trying to talk to me saying “I don’t want your tip” repeatedly! We will never go back there and will certainly not recommend the...

I had an hour before my flight so I stopped here for lunch. I felt fine and hadn't eaten in about 6 hours. I ordered a chicken burrito, no sour cream, and it tasted good. I paid and left for my gate, and got to my gate 5 minutes before they started boarding.

A few minutes after arriving at my gate I started to feel uneasy. I went to the bathroom and had diarrhea for the next 20 minutes. (3 trips to the bathroom in that time) My flight was leaving very soon so I was panicked and afraid to get on the flight. I found a shop selling Imodium AD a few stores down so I bought that and went back to the bathroom to read the directions and take a dose. I had never taken it before so I didn't know what to expect.

I went back to the gate and was the last one to board the plane. Fortunately, my seat was on the aisle near the back and I informed both flight attendants of my situation before sitting down. (Not a talk I care to have or a situation I wish on anyone except my worst enemies)

Let me just say that Imodium is a miracle drug. I managed to make it to my destination with no more issues.

Mesa Verde has food handling issues and needs to have someone review their processes. I won't eat there again. I messaged them on Facebook alerting them to this as it was the only place I found to communicate with them online. Facebook shows they read my message and they...
