We were excited about the cute town of Denville and the 4.5+ star reviews. Travelled 30 minutes to get what we were hoping would be spa pedicures, great design technicians and a set of regular gel manicure and a set of acrylic nails. We called ahead of time asking for an appointment where my friend and I could sit next to each other... We arrived for our SCHEDULED appointment and were told we could not sit next to each other, and even better, that one of us could start while the other waited. I patiently waited about 30 minutes before getting started with my regular gel manicure while my friend got her acrylic set...well my cuticles were briefly filed off, there was not cutting or cleaning of cuticles, no careful care of my hands before to my surprise amidst a layer of dust created by the filing, my gel manicure had begun...piled on top of a layer of nail dust...color lay on my skin but she pressed forward despite my kind request to please remove the polish that had stuck my the surrounding skin. I asked if she could offer suggestions of an accent nail design she thought would go well with the base coat I chose and she said if I didn't have a picture she couldn't do one...i asked for a simple minimalist dot to be placed on each finger with the ring finger having 3 dots. The dots placed were all off center. I gave up, she finished... On top of the still accumulated dust she oiled and applied lotion on my hands and gave a literal 10 second massage and then commenced to wait 2.5 hours for my friend's acrylic set to be finished...which came out so bad that they ended up needing to redo them which took another hour and a half. Thankfully her technician who redid them did a MUCH better job...however she did the design on my toes... A triangle which unfortunately came out horrible...sadly despite their best efforts, and over 5 hours- this salon left us feeling overwhelmed, disappointed and ultimately unhappy with our manicures and pedicures. We asked for spa pedicure options looking forward to each picking a different one and then to our surprise they began picking an aloe one for each of us without giving us an option to pick otherwise. Ultimately, save your time, save your money. Go...

Nail21 is now under new ownership! I decided to get a regular pedicure and I can confidently say I am so glad I did!! The pedicure was great and the new owners & workers are so friendly and willing to have conversations with you. Everything is calm, relaxing and organized. I am so glad I came to get a pedicure here!!
Typically, I don’t write reviews about businesses, but I feel my experience should be shared.
Less than a week ago I went to Nail 21 to get an impromptu Gel manicure and a regular pedicure, because I couldn’t get an appointment at my regular nail place for a gel manicure. I often get pedicures from Nail 21 and have little to no issues at all. My pedicure experience was ok, most of the workers were a little flustered and it threw a few things off. After my pedicure, I had to wait 15 minutes for an available worker to do my nails, which I don’t mind at all, I was occupied and was happy waiting. My gel manicure was pretty decent at the beginning, I believe the owner did my nails but I don’t recall her name. She filed my nails a little too thin, leading to a burning sensation under the UV light. Overall the experience was ok, and I typically would go again.
5 days after my original appointment every single one of my nails from my gel manicure had lifted/chipped in one way or another. Additionally with my pedicure, it was the same circumstances, even though it is regular polish, it almost always lasted more than 1-2 weeks. The lady who did my nails kept adding extra random charges, polish to make my nails stronger, polish to have the gel last longer, etc. I am simply frustrated with my experience, especially because Nail 21 isn’t inexpensive. If you’re looking to get your nails done in Denville, I recommend Nailed It ( Appointment Only ) or Nail time rather...
Read moreI just had the worst possible experience at this salon. This was my 4th time there and all other times were great. I went to get a dip powder fill and was told who was going to be my tech. I showed her the colors I wanted and she started on my nails. First asked me if I wanted them shorter I said no, she continued to file them so short. I let it go. Then did the different layers of dip powder however towards the end when she put the clear top coat on you can see layers of specs and bubbles on my nail. She told me it was due to the powder she used so she went to redo it. I told her she could use another base color if she wanted and if it would be easier so that we didn’t run into the same issue again. She decided to use the same color again and same issue occurred. The owner, Kris, tried to tell me that it was bc I picked a bad color .. light pink… and to come back on Tuesday when the tech I liked was there. I had multiple techs in the last four visits and never had this issue, clearly this tech didn’t know what she was doing and the owner didn’t just tell her to use a different color or assign me to a different tech but told me that since it’s Fourth of July weekend I’d have a hard time finding another Salon to finish my nails so basically to deal with what I had and come back Tuesday. I have never felt so disrespected before and ashamed that they’d treat a customer this way. I never write reviews but I hope I can help someone not waste their money and time. These pics are of what I left with.. so...
