This shop was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our three-day trip to Des Moines. As it turns out - confirmed by the very helpful, friendly lady at this antique store - most shops in town are closed on Sundays and Mondays. She, too, found this both odd and disappointing. That said, Iām glad we stumbled upon the Raccoon Forks Trading Company on our mostly fruitless search for anything interesting to do downtown on a Sunday. Iām probably biased for my love of antique stores, but even still, it is objectively fun to visit. So much stuff to look at! I could easily kill a couple of hours browsing. High quality antiques in a quaint old horse stable building in downtown Des Moines. Lots of other antique stores nearby and other shopping.
