I have been going to Mama Cooâs for years now and I always feel like I find a piece of myself in there. I have acquired great pieces that are locally made by Detroit artists - ranging from home decor to clothing and accessories. I have purchased gifts for my whole family there and itâs where I bring friends who are visiting Detroit for the first time to find their locally made souvenirs. You can see the intention that Lana puts into curating every piece in there - and to top it off she has GREAT taste.    Read moreI grew up around the block and after having watched endless amounts of coming and going and "conquistador" attitudes dominating Corktown, and its "comeback" narrative, it is SO refreshing to have someone who works so hard for the community to bring a vibrant fixture that gives us something more. This is where I go when I want to feel better about myself and I have something I am looking forward to on a Friday night. It's where I have bought something to wear for a funeral. I feel like I couldâve bought the entire store and the person working there, Desmond, was hyping me up to live my shopping spree fantasy, ha!
