This experience was Spring 2023…
Terrible experience!!!! There is an academic advisor named Wayne Morra. Him and I spoke via phone 1x. I inquired about the process, requirements regarding their Nursing Programs. Because i was a Nursing student prior and failed 5 months before graduation. So I was trying to see if Del Tech would give me credit for any of my classes that I took before.
He provided information that seemed conflicting. So I questioned the information he told me. I never mentioned another student to him. I stated “I knew someone who went and graduated and this wasn’t their process. So I asked if the process changed??
Wayne hung up with me and went back to Dean of Nursing named Joseph Barnes and fabricated the conversation that him and I had. Quite interesting when your job is to set students up for success. You can’t help students be successful when you have an issue with integrity yourself as an advisor and a Nursing Instructor.
Jospeh Barnes then calls me basically attempting to scare me and intimidate me over the phone about this allegedly conversation I had with Wayne Morra. Which I informed Joseph Barnes I never had this exact conversation with Wayne, and even if I did have this conversation inquiring about this process why are you calling me ? When have you ever heard of a Dean calling a student about them asking questions. When has this ever happened?? Never!!!
I asked him if I was a white student would this be your response? He got quiet. Joseph Barnes tone was extremely aggressive and intimidating. He went back and forth with me for approximately 15-20 minutes. Before I informed him I would be informing the Provost about Wayne Morra actions and Joseph Barnes behavior .
This was not appropriate. I expect more from a College institution. This was a form of an academic oppression and bully tactics . It discouraged me completely from attending Del Tech. I would never recommend any student to attend Del Tech especially if they are Minority students who may have to interact with Wayne Morra who seems to have issues with honesty and Joseph Barnes seems to be a bully.
Someone from the provost office did call me ! But the damage was...
Read moreEnergy Dept courses are a waste of money, instructors are not qualified to teach their subjects. On-line hybrid excel course w/on-line book turns out to be free u-Tube videos and you are instructed to "google it" if you have any questions. Physics instructor has never taught physics before, asks the students for help. Components class you are handed a sheet of paper with the bins of parts, instructor goes in his small office and watches tv on his computer while you try to figure it out. When you get to Autocad no-one knows how to use it, so we are told, "you are on your own". What am I paying money for if I am going to be teaching myself? I will come out in two years not knowing any more than when I came in. Intro to energy course, instructor is kind and a good man, and was good at his previous jobs but that does not make him a good enough instructor that will prepare us to preform the job responsibilities of a energy manager. Math dept is the pits, everyone in pre-college class is failing. No-one is addressing the problem, just take the money and the heck with the students. I was told by the Dean that I have no right to question what is being taught to me. I also got a bad mark against me because I asked questions in math class, and by asking questions that makes me disrupting the class. I had to hire a math tutor. Why should I hire a math tutor when I am paying good money to be taught by competent teachers? I asked her did you give me the money for these classes? No, then I have every right to ask questions in class, and I expect to be taught by instructors who are proficient in their subjects. Terry campus does not care that there are serious problems with their instructors. I am so very disappointed with DelTech Terry Campus....
Read moreI know a lot of people left reviews but I wanted to leave one more recent in the hopes people will see it. Stick with me here ! First things first, the classes were good and education was fine. HOWEVER and this is a big however I dropped out of courses because it just wasn’t for me. Fast forward almost a year later, me being under the impression I was dropped out and done because no one ever communicates properly, I get an email stating I will be send to collections. I try to find out more and no one is willing to help me. No one is able to provide proper cause and why this is happening. I was told I didn’t drop out properly and that would be my fault. It wouldn’t be their job to follow up and help me. They said there is nothing I can do, to the answers of why no one said anything for a year that I had a balance was a simple " I don’t know " I made peace with having to pay that money since no one wants to help me. However now I am running into the problem of getting send around, having been told three different things, stating I can’t set up a payment plan it would have to be in full( I was told something else two days ago ) by God knows when for no one can get me an exact date when I will be send to collections. With that I am owing a lot of money which I didn’t know I did for almost a year. And no one cares because I quote " not their job, your problem " my problem of coming up with a lot of money by " date unknown "
No one wants to help. Everyone just gives the solution of " just pay the money ". This is by far one of the most outrageous experiences I have ever had. Please make sure if you do attend, get everything in writing and properly laid out otherwise it’s your word against theirs and they don’t care...
