Mavis Tires & Brakes — Local services in Dover

I’ve contemplated multiple times over the course of a few weeks, since Christmas, to write this review. I did not have the best experience at Mavis Tires, specifically working with Omar who lacks communication skills to the fullest and Ethan whose sense of urgency is lacking when it comes to customer service. . I was quoted a very good price for tires (with the help of my Dad lol) from Omar. An order for the tires were put in on Saturday and I was told that by Sunday I would be able to be serviced. Sunday-I go to drop my car off and Omar tells me that the delivery truck did not have my tires and that hopefully by Monday I would be able to be serviced. I wasn’t mad because things happen. Monday morning-I was called by Omar and was told that the delivery truck only had 2 of the tires I ordered and he would travel to New Castle to get the other 2. Once again, I’m not mad but chuck it up as another mishap. I don’t hear from Omar for the rest of the day. Monday evening-Still no word about anything. I call the location and Ethan “tries” to help, even states that he does not know where Omar is at and they were “really busy”. Omar contacts me back and says he was not able to get the tires because another account had to be serviced before mine. He then promised that Tuesday would be the day I would have all the tires and be serviced. Tuesday- I’m about to drop off my car when I get a call from Omar stating that the delivery truck was in an accident and it might be a while before the tires are available. So I get rescheduled til Wednesday Wednesday-I drop off my car and hear nothing for the whole day. I call the location and once again, by Ethan, he says Omar is not available and that my car is in the shop with only 2 tires on it. The other 2 tires haven’t came. By this time I’m angry and over it. Long story short Omar made some excuse about the tires not being on the truck and that by Thursday we should be set. My dad went with me to eventually tell Omar we want the old tires back on my car and we’ll go somewhere else. I ended up getting a way better deal at PepBoys and tires were done in 3 hours. This place really hurt my heart cause I wanted to support a local business....

My man Ray was very professional and made me feel welcomed. Really chill dude. We engaged in conversation about the Eagles and music. Had a friendly conversation with a couple who have been married for 61 years. The guy Damien did the work on my brakes and rotors. My brakes and rotors are braking, sounding and working like a champ. Thank you Damien for the job well done. Ray and I talked about Ethan's music selection🤣🤣🤣. I enjoyed it though. Was waiting for Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton to play. Never did. I was telling Ray that there reviews were outstanding. That's what drew me to them. Glad they did. I was in and out in no time. There reviews say a lot about there professionalism and work ethic. So I would and will point people in there direction for brake and rotor work for sure. They have a dynamic team working there. Five Star rating easily!!! Was there today and once again great service. Met a young lady named Oena who works at the front desk. Beautiful young lady with a pleasant personality. Has the greatest smile. Omar had her share a personal story of how she got hired. God is wonderful. Her story was a delight to hear. Being there's so much tragedy in the world. They did a fantastic job replacing my tire. Such a fan of the work ethic there. Thank you guys again. Ok so I'm back on 9/6/25 and met Brett. What a pleasant employee of theirs. Very informative and efficient on his work ethic. He replaced my front passenger side tire. When I left I was very informed in knowing how to get some other things handled. If needed. Oena was there and still very professional and charming. This place is well staffed and I'm glad somebody told me to use them. So until next time. Keep making customers Happy with the...

I stopped there near the end of the day on a Sunday, they were nice enough to do the work without an appointment and the tech told me he found a bad valve stem so he replaced them all which I was fine with even though he just replaced all of them without asking at $7 a piece. However a month or two late I get a call from my wife now stranded on the side of the road because a tire went flat, after a little checking it turns out the valve stem was bad because it was dry rotted so he didn't change all of them as he stated and it cost me another $200 for a new tire because it went flat at speed and cut up the tire. I would not recommend anyone to go there.

• UPDATE* I called the number in the comment below and they got some info from me and said someone would be in contact with me, it wasn't more than a half an hour and Rodney from that branch called, he wanted me to bring the car by so he could check it out and that evening I stopped with it after work. Rodney had gone for the day but Paul (I 'm not positive on his name) and the techs on duty checked the car out made sure all the valve stems were good (even the ones they didn't need to cover) at no charge and Rodney would call me today. Rodney called to make sure the car was good now and they covered my lose on the tire. This all happen in about 24 hours time. I would like to commend Mavis and Rodney for standing up to their work and making sure I was taken care of and treated fairly, business' like that are hard to find and they had no issue doing so....
