ALDI — Local services in Downers Grove

My boyfriend and I walked in to grab a few things, was my first time checking out an Aldi, my partner was carrying my ESA (Emotional support animal) in her secure bag, who I have a card for, due to diagnosed agoraphobia and PTSD. However no sooner had we walked in, a woman manning the cleaning machine told us we needed to show papers for her. I’m not used to getting this question, as usually when asked I say what shes for, shes in her bag, and shes trained. Most compassionate people understand and allow her in. However this person, stated that only service animals were allowed. I said she is, emotional support. She said it’s “Aldi’s policy, not me. Only REAL support animals”

This was incredibly condescending, and unprofessional. I’ve brought her in no problem at Walmart, Target, even Jewel Osco without a fuss. We will not be bringing our business here again, and if you have a service animal make sure you have your papers for...

Produce is always fresh. The gave major brands and alit of Aldi brands of great quality.

They beat Sam's Club pricing on many things.

Good selection of dinner wines and some specialty beers.

I did some Christmas shopping, mainly kids books. Also bought a drying rack for my dishes. It was very well designed.

Try it out but bring a refundable quarter for your cart. Fastest check out of any grocery store. They don't bag it but have plenty of empty boxes for you to pack your food.

I keep my plastic bag supply from other stores and unload my cart in to my hatch and just bag the stuff so easier to get in house.

Then return your cart and get your quarter back.

I actually prefer this location over the one in Lisle. It has more selection and is better stocked. Getting in and out of the parking lot is way better. Produce quality is the same, just average, nothing great. Remember you can always take one of those empty boxes from the boxcart to carry your groceries to your car and home. Employees were pleasant. Prices are cheap. If you go during the holiday season, you’ll see a house that’s well decorated. It’s located next to Aldi. You get a free show. This location is close to many...
