I have lived here for about two years and have truly had a great experience. I think my pros and cons would be helpful to those considering to live here.
Safety: As a female living alone, safety is a big concern for me. Although there are a few areas where safety seems compromised on the property, I have not had any issues and feel completely comfortable living here. The areas that need attention are the garage entry, which has been broken/faulty for pretty much my entire time living here. With that being said, my car has never been broken into. I have seen two other cars have their windows smashed. I cant say for certain if that was result of a burglary. The keypad entry/doors seem to malfunction easily, sometimes allowing people to enter the property without a resident code. Despite being next to the pool, elevators, and outdoor stairway, my apartment is peaceful and quiet at all hours of day/night and no "suspicious" people lurking.
Property management: I have had nothing but delightful experiences with the staff here. I really like the ability to text the office, and they are very responsive - often sending me responses after hours. They are very forgiving/willing to work with you. I parked in an incorrect spot and was away for work. They texted me asking me to move my car, I explained I was away and not able to move and they let me know it was ok this time but to please move my car asap, forgoing towing my car. They have also texted me when there was a need to enter my apartment due to a pipe bursting, asking permission to enter before doing so and updating me on any damage (there wasn't any). I have also had a package deliver to the wrong apartment and they reached out on my behalf to try to resolve the issue. The maintenance always smiles to me in the hallway and are professional and helpful. I think if you are a good resident, they are willing to go above and beyond.
Apartment: My apartment is exactly as advertised. My appliances work great, I have yet to have any problems. There are no weird smells, great natural lighting, and again it is quiet. The walls are not thin like other apartments, and my door lock/code works as it should.
Amenities/property: I love the amenities here. I frequent the gym which is clean and the equipment in good condition. The pool is rarely crowded and has comfortable furniture. I have used the sky lounge to host my family and we all enjoy it. I will say there are many dogs that live on the property that are always friendly/cute, but the elevator has had animal waste quiet a few times and the walkways outside the property often have pet waste that is left. I know they have put out more trash cans in those areas to encourage clean up. The mail room can be hit/miss. There are often packages left everywhere, thankfully none of mine have been stolen. Usually mine are put in the lockers but maybe 65% of the time, and otherwise left on the floor for anyone to take. The property seems clean and well kept by maintenance.
Location: The location is great! Close to the freeway, the large park across the main street (there is a ped bridge to use), shopping, and Bart. This is a great location for someone on the go like me, with everything I need close by.
All in all, I would recommend living here! The residents are friendly and it is a safe space in a...
Read moreThe property management here is discriminatory in housing practices and dishonest in its business practices. We are here for school on a foreign visa, and applied to this complex. Below is our experience during the application process, they changed their narrative throughout, each time we offer a solution the leasing managers came up with a new never-before-heard reason on why this doesn't work. There is a reason why this complex, being the most premium has the worst rating amongst all.
1). First of all, they took our $550 in app fee and deposit right away when we applied, and a week later when our application was ultimately denied, told us it will take THREE WEEKS to receive refund VIA A CHECK.
2). As foreign nationals, we do not have credit, ss#, or income here in the U.S. They rejected 12 months rent payment up front, and said that they would need our foreign bank to issue an English letter stating how much U.S. DOLLARS is deposited each month for the last six months. This is impossible because NO foreign bank that deals a different currency is going to state deposits converted into U.S. Dollars. The leasing agent even acknowledged this would be a difficult thing to achieve, and yet said it is a must. And, they would not accept seeing deposits in foreign currency and just do the conversion.
3). So we had to approach our family member as co-signer. She is U.S. citizen married with two community property joint banks with her spouse. Each bank account has income source coming in monthly. They said that they only allow one bank account to be considered. Reason unknown. People have multiple sources of income and bank accounts, it's all considered income taxable by the IRS, why does a apartment leasing company rule out people who have more than one source of income?!
4). They said that bank accounts with two people's name on it (husband and wife) are NOT to be considered because they cannot tell who's income belongs to who.
In the end, the leasing agent said they have to practice fair housing laws in California and cannot only lease to those with higher income levels. This is obsured and dishonest--this is the most premium apartment complex iin Dublin, a community fueled by tech professionals. The units here cost 25% more than nearby competitors, and they ask for 4 times the monthly rent in BANK DEPOSITS from cosigners, which means pre-tax would be 6/7 times monthly rent given that those who meet these criteria are probably in the 40% tax bracket. In other words, they are looking for those who make 28K base salary each month, so it's clear that they pretty much SURVIVE off of those with higher income, and yet they told us they cannot favor higher income applicants? Such hypocrites.
The leasing agent supervisor Matt Baugh was super curt and rude, discrimination all around, terrible experience. Too bad the beautiful lobbies smell of dog urine per other...
Read moreI'd say overall if it's in your budget, sure, go for it. Now let's get to the problems because that's what people want to read about. This is my review of apt 112.
Leasing office doesn't pick up their phone most of the time even though they are in the office which is the usual complaint for apts. I just don't get why leasing offices have so much trouble picking up the phones. The leasing office is nice though.
When we moved in there were many problems. Let's just sum it up and say someone was in our apt almost every other week for months trying to fix/problem solve things. The maintenance team is also nice.
The front door has a smart auto lock. You could keep the bolt out and prevent the door from shutting while you get grocerys or w/e. We left it like this and within 2 weeks of moving we had some random guy running through the halls with a dog and opened our front door. He saw us and then ran off. The hallways have smart locks on them to keep people out, mostly. We had a few people door check us from the street door trying to see if they could break in. I lived in another apt nearby and this happened multiple times in the middle of the night.
The ceiling on the first floor apts are made out of ugly concrete which block a lot of the sound but the neighbor upstairs has got serious mental issues. He bangs something 2 times in a row or more, dozens of times throughout the day at literally all hours. It's not walking, he's using his arm to literally bang things and sometimes throws things. Many times if a plane goes by or someone shuts their car door or just makes noise outside, he bangs. Simple math says he's done this literally over 10,000 times in the past year. The power went out before and he banged really hard and started stomping/pacing around really loud and throwing things for a while. I've looked at his pc from outside by his window and that is where he is usually banging. Bet he's just on the internet playing games/trolling all day. I assume someone is paying for him, probably his parents. He was probably too annoying for them to keep at their home to take care of and would rather just flat out pay to get rid of him. Really terrible people for enabling him.
Side neighbors are sports screamers and have a dog. You hear them screaming in the halls but inside our apt, the side walls blocks it all out.
Garage gate has been broken for over a year. Base parking is $50. Utilities are around $120. Shower gets warm fast but the sink takes a little bit. Internet is fast. It has a modem that comes with the apt. It has gigabit speeds but we got the slower one since there isn't a reason to have gigabit. A quick speed test shows 369/365 Mbps at $55.
After a year, they raised rent 10%. Hope the...
