Great food selection and prices. Perfect on that aspect. However, I have had at least 3 less than positive encounters with some staff members and it seems to be the same ones. I have had great customer experience at the check out and even when I asked for items I can't find, etc with some of the staff and I am grateful for them.
The 3 staff members the encountes were not so great with, really 2 direct experiences both on the day shift, turned into an unessasary argument at the check-out line that resulted in me abondeding the transaction and item all together after shopping and waiting in line for God knows how long. Granted, it was only 1 item (canned sardines) so walking away was the best option for me.
The other staff member with no so great customer service, also day shift, seemed dismissive, unresponsive, and cold towards my presence. At least that's how I took it but maybe I am wrong. (Maybe he was having a bad day or something, but this was the second time I experienced that from him).
The first employee mentioned in earlier paragraphs (the one with whom I choose to abandon my item at checkout) was on the younger side and it was obvious because of the way he was quick to have a back and forth argument with me with comfort, as if we were friends or something. The argument (that I choose to end real quick because as a grown adult professional and human being, I don't have time for such) was because he almost checked out the wrong items that belonged to a different customer. While holding my canned sardine in my hand to eventually hand it to the employee for check-out since it's only, one item. With zero acknowledgement of my presence (I don't need a hello or hi but the acknowledgement would have been so I can clarify which items where mines. This has been done the in the past with zero issues until with others at the check-out)
Since he didn't acknowledg me and quickly proceeded to grab the other items, I quickly stopped him from scanning the other customer's items by mistake, then told him "Gotta pay attention brother" then he proceeded to react with a remark (we are all human so I get it but there is a way of doing things) and as I felt the argument increase to nowhere-land and unnecessary conflict island, he proceeded to call the manager. No idea why, at all but that clearly would have been a waste of time for both the manager, myself, and the people waiting in line so I walked of and yes I called him a couple names because of the unnecessary disrespect, unprofessionalism, lack of attention to detail, lack basic customer service, and lost importantly, time wasting tendencies since the employee clearly couldn't handle a simple situation.
To conclude, I enjoy shopping here. Great food options that are of quality. Great and reputable distributors and suppliers for the whole foods which is very important. I also love the fact that it's not just foods but they have other miscellaneous items for good prices as well so anyone can shop here without having to go anywhere else for quality home items alongside food, etc.
No employee is perfect and we are all human beings at the end of the day but that specific event is not something that should happen in the first place.
To conclude, I saw him again the next day (I shop here for almost everything so the good customer service 101 should be standard) and pretty much told him no hard feelings. Again, I have had great customer service from other staff members; like other check-out employees acknowledging my presence and even educating me on the app which I will use everytime I purchase anything above $30 as mentioned by someone who cares about their job.
Inspite of minor incident, I will keep doing business with Lidl. May the company prosper and...
Read moreI'd like to share my unfortunate experience at the Suwanee store on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. Today, there was a $2 discrepancy in the price printed and the system for the drift roses(4 count) I purchased. After the cashier lady apologized for the mistake, she called the supervisor, a tall black mail cashier with a beard, to assist. Unfortunately, he was dismissive and rude, insisting that the computer price was final. Despite my polite request to verify the printed price on the aisle, he maintained his arrogant demeanor and stopped responding to me. Observing the cashier's helplessness, I sensed that he may have been mistreating her. This left me feeling sorry for her. To my disappointment, neither the supervisor nor anyone else offered assistance or suggested leaving the items behind. This experience was distressing and left me feeling psychologically anxious, even though I was certain of the correct pricing. In the end, I had no choice but to purchase the item at the higher price. It was an extremely poor customer service experience. When I attempted to record the interaction with my phone, the supervisor suddenly stopped speaking, perhaps realizing his error. I hope that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken to address this situation and ensure the well-being of both customers and lady staff...
