I really didn't want to write this review, but seeing how we are in a suburban area, & I don't see too many African Americans in a leadership role--I feel the need to voice my opinion/concern. I came to the Cava, Duluth location with my fiancé around lunch hour because we were in the area leaving his chiropractic appointment. At first glance we noticed there would've been a bit of a wait, as we were standing near the very back of the line. No worries there, we didn't mind waiting, as we too know, that other people enjoy it just as much as we do--and I mean, it WAS lunch time, so I understand the wait time/rush. However, what I COULDN'T understand, is why on Earth, was the ONLY African American female (I didn't get her name, but I did notice she was in fact pregnant and very much showing), the ONLY one working to get the line down, while there were two other team members dragging their feet and basically watching her struggle. I hated that for her! At one point, when we got closer in the line, I noticed the pregnant woman which was on the toppings station, crying as she too, struggled to remain calm, and keep up with the demands of the line. When she got to us, not only was she POLITE and respectful through and through, but she was trying SO HARD to fight back her tears...(And as a mother of 3 boys, I could just tell that young woman was in pain. Probably from being overworked and hungry (or a mixture of both); as it didn't seem that she had anyone around her to help alleviate the stress of getting the line down. They basically just stood there and watched her as they laughed and giggled behind her back. My fiancé and I witnessed it all. My only hope is that Cava understands the delicacy of a WORKING pregnant woman--and treats them with proper care and much more respect than what that pregnant woman has received. Which makes me wonder what kind of treatment she receives on a daily basis?? Because from what my fiancé and I witnessed today, Cava does NOT respect yet alone care for pregnant working women. I really hope that young woman knows that all of her pain is temporary, and if no one cares, myself, and God--we care about her. Other than that, the food didn't sit well with me, after witnessing such harsh treatment of an African American pregnant woman. DO BETTER CAVA.

Read moreLet me start by saying I am a HUGE fan of Cava, been to all 3 other locations in the metro area. Came into this one for the first time and it was terrible. Asked for 2 Harissa bowls and a kids Pita. The bowls had barely any rice and greens. Ask for a little more rice, and the guy rudely tells me that’s extra. Told him how other locations give a lot more rice than that, he says we are going to be giving less portions of everything now. I was like what? Let that go and he continued to the meat station, guy says oh we are out of spicy chicken, asked if he can ask the chef when more is ready, looks behind him and there is a tin of it sitting right behind him. Then veggies, looks and says, we have no more avocados. I’m like are you sure, then tells me maybe we have some but it will take 10 minutes to bring them. 10 mins to grab some avocados?! At this point frustration kicks in and I cancel my bowls but get my kids food cause he loves Cava and is hungry. Ask to speak with manager, this guys says he’s the manager! Ask for his boss, GM Ali comes and asks what happened. Told him what happened and Ali said they had avocados ready and spicy chicken was ready. Clearly the “manager” and General Manager Ali are not on the same page! Short apology and not even offering to fix the solution and at that point I just wanted out. The final nail was the GM gives me my kid’s fountain drink and as I am almost home I see his cup and there are long black hairs on around his cup! Photo attached. Terrible! This is disappointing because me, my family loves Cava and this location closest to our home but...
Read moreAlways check your order before you leave. They constantly forget to put items in the bag you have paid for. Often, I won't come back for what's missing. Today I did, they forgot to put my order of falafel into my bag. I noticed when I got home. I called and sure enough they realized it was there. I came back, and the person I spoke to on the phone asked if I paid. I said of course I did, why would I have come back. She said no worries. Like why would you say no worries. They made a mistake. I paid and had to make a special trip back out to get it. A little customer service goes a long way. I get no one wants to work in the food industry, but with the rising costs of everything we need to get what we pay for. I didn't expect an apology, but they made it seem like they were doing me a favor to give me something I paid for.
We have tried Cava multiple times now. It's like Chipotle, but Mediterranean.
Overall, I'm happy with a quick, healthy option for dinner that's not your typical "fast food.""
I have had the harissa honey chicken twice now. The first time, it was great the second time the meat quality wasn't that great. A few pieces were chewy.
My husband really enjoyed his bowls. He has tried the meatball one and the chicken and avocado bowl.
My kids are pretty picky when it comes to food. My daughter likes the falafel. Is this my kid's favorite place to eat? No. Will they eat? Somewhat. The kids' meals do come...
