This is a real, authentic review with proof of purchase along with any other proof related to my experience below
This was my first purchase with Wasteland directly instead of their eBay or TCGplayer page after seeing recommendations from Reddit which was what I said from one of my first emails to them.
My card came damaged and the seller does not provide return labels even if the mistake wasn't the buyer's fault. You read that right, if you receive a damaged card, you're responsible for return postage.
They claim the same thing will be the same thing with TCGPlayer or eBay but that is false. If purchased on eBay or tcgplayer, the buyer is not responsible for return postage. I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO BUY VIA TCGPLAYER OR EBAY AS YOU WILL BE BETTER PROTECTED.
After I disputed this, they finally said they would pay return shipping if I pay first and show them a receipt. If that's the case why not just provide a return label from the get go? Seems sus.
I asked them if I returned it, if they would keep true to their word because I showed proof of them going back on their word from another reputable eBay user.
Keep in mind I only brought up 2 negative reviews they had (I also said they were recommended by reddit users in one of my first emails to them) and it was because they were relevant to my case.
For some reason they accused me of interrogating them. That's completely fine, it's a free country, everyone is entitled to their opinion. That's their perspective so I gave them a lengthy response to explain my perspective and as to why I was not interrogating anyone at all. I don't try to change anyone's opinion, I just explain my side of things and if they still feel the same way, that is completely fine.
After my response, the seller did not respond for 5 days. They were responding quick within the same day before but just ignore you if you try explaining yourself. Instead of agreeing to disagree, the seller would rather ignore you. I asked them to confirm the return address but again they ignored me.
I don't know who I was communicating with. I'm unsure if it was the owner themselves, a rep or even a CS team. They never identified themselves. Whoever it was, you need to seperate your personal feelings from business. You let your emotions get the better of you and you're representing Wasteland. In this hobby, people will disagree on alot of things and that's completely fine. That's just part of the game.
This is just my experience and mine alone. Majority of their reviews are good so hopefully this is just a one off. If there's ever an update to my experience I will update it. Thanks to anyone who read my review and apologies for any...
Read moreI stopped in with my husband yesterday to look at PokÊmon cards. We were traveling on vacation and only had that time to stop in. We had heard so much from LootBoxTV that we made a point to stop in.
We were told the only way to look at the vintage cards was on these two computers that looked like they have NEVER been cleaned and there was NO sanitizing supplies for customers to use to clean the keyboard and mouse. Apparently people that go to wasteland must be immune to COVID....? We spent 15-20 minutes trying to go thru the cards on a very annoying website that had cards in the wrong sets. For example choose Skyridge gave us all cards from the HGSS base set. Also the website appeared to be only available in store so you could not do this prior to entering the store.
We selected about $80 worth of cards and were planning to look at playmats and plushies. We were not told that the process for looking at cards was that you first purchased the cards, then if you were dissatisfied you could return them. We assumed like several other stores that we would review the cards we selected and then make a purchase. The clerk explained it trying to say something like âwell what if we get them out and you donât like the condition of the cards? Then weâd lose a sale.â Well DUH. Thatâs how card shops work. Thatâs how most shops work. After viewing what we had chosen, the clerk offered to get out the cards for us, but by this point we were genuinely annoyed and wanted to get away from the logic presented to us.
the store was FILTHY. The plushies were on shelves with dirt. Actual dirt. Not a layer of dust. It was on several of the plushies as well. I didnât even want to touch some of the plushies because you could see the dirt on them. The black shelves did not hide the dirt. It was the nastiest shelves Iâve ever seen. I dropped a plushie behind the shelves and did not even want to pick it up. I did, only after my husband made fun of me.
The quality of the grading of cards was also in my opinion low. I felt the quality of the card we got was not LP but actually MP+. It was not the experience I expected and Iâve been to many card shops spanning many cities and states. That by far was the lowest on the totem...
Read moreDrove about an hour to come check the place out and I have to say, I was very disappointed.
The business model here appears to be a card farm via the laptops that the staff indistinctly points you to if you are looking at singles. I get it, you have a lot of cards, but they couldn't have seemed less interested when I inquired about some older expensive cards, nor were there educated/capable folks to discuss some higher end purchases ($1k and up) for vintage MTG.
As other reviews have shown, the prices that I saw here were absurd for MTG singles and etc. Figure 50-80% over current retail market value for no reason at all (at least not one worth discussing when you have TCGPlayer and markets to not overpay in vs current value). As some stores do a high volume, prices can be out of touch at times and that is a fair thing to give breathing room on when you see this. However, when you ask them to verify current pricing for some cards and you are told that there is one person mainly setting pricing and the manager on duty can only put in a request for future consideration and email you later, it just becomes a complete waste of time. Its not a complaint about not getting a price changed, its just simply off that they were not capable of even having the discussion on a large purchase due to design limited by a single person who isnt available.
Suffice to say, for MTG players educate yourself of current pricing via TCGPlayer or other places of repute and find what things are selling for these days before purchasing anywhere. PSA, I dont work or associate or affiliate with any other card shops or TCGPlayer, just a collector who was disappointed after a long drive who was looking to finish a few old sets.
The "premium experience" mentioned in the shop's reply to previous reviews is simply... nonexistent...
