Fish Food Pantry — Local services in Dundee Township

My first experience was ok as they don’t allow kids inside but I had brought my kids (no choice) they shopped for me and allowed me to pick up the food which was great , good selections despite 1 of the meats being no good still so grateful, and lasted my family quite a few days with 3 big full Boxes. They were also very kind. I could’ve cried. (almost the whole week it was super impressive).. This past visit today I checked almost all the same boxes as last time (minus a few things we still had) and was given 1 small box. Like maybe 2 days if that worth of food for my family. I understand pantries can fluctuate based on what they have that week, but I saw an older guy loading 4 full boxes into his truck. Fresh veggies and fruit , while I got apples. Like packed full. And the amount given shouldn’t depend on who’s shopping that day. I would shop myself but I literally can’t bring my 4 and 8 year olds inside. So I leave the shopping to them and it feels like they kind of forgot about my family. I was a little disappointed because this month is so short for my family and was relying on the help. I’m still grateful but a little sad I can’t make it stretch...

So degrading having to tuck your tail between your legs because we all know beggars can’t be choosers. So to have to come to this place and have the volunteers look down on you & not acknowledge you & have such beautiful faces but such ugly hearts/attitude it’s definitely a very humbling experience but also a very much powerless feeling because you have to take it because you need their help. Can’t even give feedback to the so called in charge of the foundations because instead of hearing you out they get defensive. & I do have to be specific that it’s only 2 young beautiful girls at the desk that were the ones with the attitude & the so called manager. Everyone else I have encountered there was very kind & helpful. Sucks that I am on the verge of tears knowing that I will have to go thru this again ONLy because I truly need their help. But it’s so confusing knowing that a foundation or organization with a good cause has ugly...

Fish Food Pantry is filled with nothing but grumpy old workers. They think they can talk to you any way they like and justify it by yelling, but if you yell back, you get kicked out. The head person in charge Vince, leads by example by yelling at the top of his lungs when he does not like the situation. I highly recommend going to a different food pantry, or donating to another facility. Bc even if it is not your fault they will still stick together. They never answer the phones and are rude to customers. Go else where !! 0/10 do not...
