I took my Persian cat to Mia's to be groomed and asked for a "FULL-TAIL" as we have in the past. Full-tail was clearly written on the work order and no one disputed that. When I let her out of her carrier at home, I found that 2/3 of her tail was shaved down completely to the skin. OK normally that would not be the end of the world other than how BAD she looks and will for several months until it grows in. However, having her tail shaved has her absolutely terrified. She seems to think something (the end of her tail) is chasing her. While this may sound humorous, ever since she got home, she's been running around uncontrollably hissing, growling and screaming as if in pain and/or scared. She has NEVER once hissed at me or my husband, and now we can't go near her. She has been running up and down the stairs frantically, and jumping on and off every table at least 50 times - and afraid she is going to get hurt.
I immediately called to ask what happened. I was told there was a "miscommunication" because the groomer saw "lion-cut with full tail" and typically lion-cut means to shave some of the tail. If there was ANY doubt, the full-tail should have been left in place; it could always have been cut down if we wanted it that way.
The more appropriate response and the one we expected, should have been "This was our fault; no excuses. We apologize and will issue you a full refund." Unfortunately citing "miscommunication" falls woefully short of...

When I picked up my shihpoo Emerson I was told that the groomer went too far when cutting her nails which caused her to bleed. I was reassured that disinfecting powder was put on the nail and that she would be ok because it was a minor cut similar to how paper cuts are for us. At the time the owner said that I could call anytime if any problem came up. I agreed that I would and left the shop. I handed Emerson to my daughter who was in the back seat. Before I was able to drive around the corner my daughter panicked because Emerson was now bleeding again and aggressively. My daughter’s outfit covered in blood. I immediately called the owner and told her that I was going to take Emerson to the vet. She agreed that I should and told me she would reimburse the vet bill. Well months later and I still haven’t been fully reimbursed from Mia’s professional grooming, just a lot of run around after a total of almost 400 dollar vet fees for a torn dew claw. The groomer missed her entire nail. I wouldn’t trust this place I hate to have to write this review but it was the reviews that made me give this place a shot. The owner seemed nice but did not keep her word. Look elsewhere if you...
Read moreVery disappointed! We have been customers for almost a year. We bring our golden doodle about every 10 weeks or so. In October I noticed she was left a little long but was ok with it. Brought her back in today only 10 weeks later (December) and they completely shaved her. Told me she was “too matted” which I did not think was the case when we brought her in. In addition their pricing is not posted in their store and when we first brought her it was $90, then $120, and today $150 for a shaved dog which we did not want. I told the teenager at the front desk we would not return, her response was “it’s only an extra $20”. Extremely disappointing. We will be pursuing groomers who are able to groom and...
