Out of ALL the grocery stores I have 2 pick from. Food Lion is still my 🥰. Maybe it's the cost of food, the employees are generally nicer & it doesn't appear they are being forced 2 put on a nice ☺ it still has that old time charm somewhat, hasn't been souped up 2 make it appear 2 be more than it is. I ♥ that. It's always clean. So thats another plus, usually, always well stocked. also don't see them all over the store, being in your way as you're shopping so they can restock in a hurry. They give the real,"customers 1st feel" by not having huge carts sitting out all over the aisles/tons of employees restocking left/right 2 disturb you by being in your way. Store managers know peak times. They should take lessons from Food Lion & be considerate not 2 have employees shoveling around while customers are trying 2 shop in peace. If by chance you're looking for something & don't see it. There's 2 ways 2 get the item you need. Ask 1 of the employees you'll find in the less busier sections of the store or the cashier as you're checking out. She will always ask if you found everything. If you say no...it will be found even if it hasn't been stocked yet. Also, I love the fact they don't have employees rushing around, jumping in/out the front of you while they're shopping for online orders. That's another fave part of mine. Not dealing with over worked, under paid employees that are angry about the job they decided on. Therefore, not paying attn to in-store customers & rudely making them feel their dollar isn't what is also helping them be paid. Then, the self checkouts....idk about ALL Food lions. But mine doesn't have any. Thankfully. I believe if they get even 1. That will be the end coming 4 them. It feels great 2 have a cashier. 2 see a smiling face, Have a small friendly conversation as you're being physically checked out. You just feel good. The produce always looks good & that will always be 1 section you see employees in/around. They go thru a lot of produce. But....I've been concerned as they posted new signs above a while back stating there are bug shelling & being sprayed with things to help keep produce fresh. This saddens me. From everything w/Gates & his Apeel & the cloning of food & bioengineering of our food now. It really bothers me to know Food Lion is allowing such Franken foods to be on their shelves. A few weeks ago. I went shopping only 2 learn this week some of the soups I bought are listed as having the bioengineering ingredients. Folks....please be careful picking your foods. Read/understand your labels. It's of the highest importance for the health of you/your family. I'll be returning all the soups & sweet condensed milk I bought due 2 these ingredients. I'm also going 2 do more research on what is being used on the foods in the produce. I've already stopped buying all meat from the grocery stores since we honestly aren't sure where it comes from anymore. I was buying turkey & ground chicken in huge amounts bc I home-cook for my furkid. Kept noticing she kept staying sick. Found out the turkey (ground turkey) was being filled with the gas chemical thats used on/in meat packing. So now I only buy from meat markets. As far as vegetables. I've started buying as much as possible from produce stands/individual growers. I bought a bag of green apples from food lion in January this year. We stopped eating them after a week. Left 3 on the table. Those apples, still aren't bad looking today. How is that possible? So as much as I do still love food lion. I won't be buying many things at all anymore such as meat/produce. I'll also be reading every label 2 see what poisons these companies are adding in now. Oh before I forget. Watch for the "smart label" on the foods now too. It's there 2 replace the bioengineering ingredients bc so many are complaining. They hide it behind the label bc they depend on you to be too lazy 2 scan the item you want. Especially older folks. So just be aware. Stay vigilant. Things are crazy!! Either way I love food lion & will continue w/them til I just can't.

Update 7/31/20 I'm proud to report that Everyone was wearing a Mask on my visit Today, Every Employee, Every Customer, Even One Employee who wasn't last time I was there off duty wearing a Mask. I was so Happy to see This Time Wearing a Mask, We even spoke while both shopping. So Happy to see this because this Young Lady lives 3doors down in my 4unit building. She's not only my Neighbor but Also My Friend. I've seen Her have a Child and I've Proudly Seen Her Child Grow. We've been Neighbors for 5yrs or so. I'm Not changing the review I just updated on because Everyone Needs to Realize This Virus Is REAL!!! Previous 1 Star Review....In this time of Covid 19 and the Surge in Hamilton County I must evaluate each business on how their responding. Food Loin Does NOT Require a Mask to Enter as Walmart Does(Thankyou Walmart). Food Loin does require employees to wear a Mask, However I was Shocked yesterday evening to see a shift leader come in with her dad and her infant child not wearing Masks to shop. Everyone else I seen in the store was wearing Masks. Then Today at the Dollar Tree where the sign on the door Clearly States You Must have Mask On to enter. Another Food Lion Employee not Wearing a Mask. Both instances Show Total Disrespect Not Only for Food Lion but the General public, also for the requirements oF Dollar Tree. Everyone was looking at her, probably wanting to say something as I was. Every Customer and employee Had a Mask On Not Just to Protect Ourselves but Others.t Both of these Young Ladies Would probably Not show any major symptoms if they get the Virus but they should think about Others. Over 500 Thousand New Case's in the U.S this week. I Know I Will NOT Be Shopping at Food Lion Any Time Soon. Been going there for near 25yrs, We All Must Give Up the Past and Change how We Are in Public if We Are to have Any Future At All.

Clean store, friendly staff with plenty of registers open at 945 a.m, however lots of empty shelves forcing you to buy in bulk vs single items because there were no single items if I needed 5 cans of whatever was forced to by a 12pk case. Meats extremely expensive, prices were alot higher than where I normally shop on every item I purchased. Only decided to go there because I hadn't been in years and was wanting a change of scenery which I enjoyed but over all empty shelves, empty freezer compartments, higher than usual prices but the restrooms were sparkling clean. Will probably be several more years before I go back. Picture I included was canned cat food isle and dog canned food isle was the same 🤨

I’m not giving the store as a whole a 1 star. I’m giving 1 specific employee (possibly a manager) a -5 starts if I could. I was in the store a couple weeks ago and scored an amazing deal on swiffer wet pads as they were bogo which lead them to ring up as $4.99 each instead of $9.99 each, and then I had a coupon for $X off of 2. I went back to get more with my boyfriend’s account and they were out so I got a rain check. I went in today to see if they had them in stock (the sale is now over) because they’ve been out since the day I got them a couple weeks ago and they had them. Except the way my rain check was written they were only ringing up 1 item so my coupon didn’t come off. Well immediately after Amber was called to assist with the rain check she had an attitude. She didn’t listen to anything I had to say or my question as to why my coupon wasn’t coming off. I’ve been couponing for 10+ years and this was by far the WORST experience I’ve ever had dealing with an employee. I can’t imagine I’m the first to complain about her, and I guarantee I won’t be the last. I decided not to purchase at that time because I was having trouble singing into the account to verify the coupon so I went back out to my car and got into my account and then went back in. The funny thing was Amber sent someone else (a little old lady who still had an attitude but not as bad as Amber) to deal with me and my rain check and coupon question who also had an attitude but I didn’t get her name. Needless to say, I’ll be making sure not to shop at that location while Amber is working. Or maybe I’ll just drive the 20 minutes to a...
