Pizza Hut — Restaurant in East Ridge

Having ordered a bunch of medium 1 top twice for parties, I wanted to use my points to get a “good” pizza w/ lots of stuff. I also needed a med cheese 1 top for the kids. I ordered my large with lots of toppings & Ex cheese with special instructions to evenly distribute top/cheese and Do Not cut. Got the 6.00 1 top medium w/extra cheese & a pasta tray in the 2 or more for five deal (no way to say easy on sauce or comment for med using website) along with the large. All carryout. Cost was 17:48 w/ tax & point value. I called the store immediately to request EZ sauce on med 1 top. Got an answering services that transferred to “manager.” After multiple rings got a busy signal then hung up on. Tried again with the same useless result. 15 minutes after ordering I went to the store (5min away) and paid for my order. Then was told that they had to remake my “good” pizza, I requested that the med be EZ sauce and cut table guy said ok. I waited about 10 min and got my food. When home (5min away) I got the pasta and it was cold. Had to bake in my home oven. I doubt it was remade. The medium ex cheese 1 topping seemed better but not very hot. Now I’m wondering how bad my large, loaded up, pizza could be? All of my fears were confirmed after picking up a slice and looking at the distribution of toppings & cheese. The pizza looked under cooked and the crust looked like old dough. The crust was missing the hut favorite spray & sprinkle. The pizza looked like a rush job. The toppings were spread acceptably with pep, ham, meatball, spinach, mush, & onion. The dash of top cheese was in a 4 in circle in the middle with little to none around the other 10 inches of pizza. I wondered how could this be 2.25 worth of extra cheese. When picking up the hand tossed crust the dough was under cooked and floppy as “old” dough usually behaves. Most of the toppings fell off immediately for two reasons, the paper thin old dough center was under cooked with not stiffness, & there was not enough cheese to adhere anything but pepperoni. I can’t help but think the original that was cut might have been better. The box was soaked through with puddles of grease. I found this odd from a uncut pizza. I was quite upset but decide to do the dignified thing and vent online while swearing off Pizza Hut forever. This makes me sad, having been a shift manager at PH for a number of years and cranking out the quality products that warrant the premium price tag, I held PH in high regards. Now that I have a family to feed we rarely go for the pricier pies. I hate that the experience has been poor from website to phone call?to store visit and most importantly a superior product. I can overlook most problems if the end result is pleasing but this was a fail at all levels. The company claims that “No one out-pizzas the hut.” Perhaps years ago but, by my recent experience proves this to be a dubious claim. Pizza Hut is great if you want a 1 topping medium pizza. They have their own delivery drivers but they use door dash drivers and don't tell you up front. If you call and tell them you don't want door dash to deliver your pizza they get pretty upset about it and tell you it's luck of the draw, you don't have a choice. This is wrong on many levels. For one, pizza delivery drivers get paid less than minimum wage in the store and only make normal wage and tips when driving, so calling on door dash hurts the employees that are there trying to make a living. For me personally, I refuse to eat food delivered by door dash, grub hub, Uber eats, etc. Any company that let's random people be alone with your food is not OK. At least pizza delivery drivers are trained in food safety, and it's their dedicated job. All the fly by night delivery companies hire anyone, and the vast majority of those people are nasty and unscrupulous. They don't bathe and they wear nasty clothes so they have an aura of funky BO, some of them smoke in the vehicle, and an alarming number of them will open containers and pick at your food with their nasty little paws or do who knows what to it, and most of the time they don't get caught. I have ordered from there twice recently and both times were a complete disaster and what’s worse is you can not get them on the phone AT ALL . It sent me to some call center and then was ringing for 30 minutes for them to finally answer . They forgot half my order and I was told they would remake it and send someone back out to deliver it and no one ever showed up and when I called AGAIN and waited another 30 minutes for them to never answer . The second time they left stuff out , we actually went to the store so we could get it . They are just not the place to order from at all and everything is burnt anyway . They do not care and honestly I feel like the location should just be shut down seeing all the other negative reviews as well , they just seem to be nothing but a hassle for everyone .
