TL;DR Just a horrible experience. Not worth the drive.
A stumbled on this place while running out of town errands so, it wasn't close to me but it was very pretty and I got sucked in. I just moved from California which, as far as gun laws go, might as well be a different country. I was overwhelmed and needless to say, I was very excited to purchase my first PCC and my first suppressor. Now, admittedly, I'm new to the NFA, so I was looking to them for direction. There was the rub. I selected a model that would fit the gun I just purchased and it was explained to me that there was a waiting period and some paperwork and I would need to come back but, I would pay for the can that day. I paid, put 20 rounds through my new toy on the range, and left. About two weeks later I got three texts in one day telling me that my suppressor was in, and I could come and get it! The text said to call for an appointment which I did and was directed to the "only person that does that," a women that was also the co-owner as it turns out.
She sounded instantly annoyed and bothered by the call but said I could come in on my next day off, which was the next week. A couple days later, I was forced to reschedule so, I called them back and asked to speak with the nice lady. Once again, she acted as if every word out of my mouth was like a razor blade to her ears. She didn't know who I was, what I had bought, or anything about my previously scheduled appointment. I told her I needed to reschedule, she said, "When would you like to come in." I said same time just one day later. She replied, "Fine" and hung up. At this point I was getting worried but, didn't know what else to do except keep the appointment. So, the day came and, just to be on the safe side, I called first to verify the appointment. Someone, I'm not sure who, said I was good to go. I made the 70 minute drive, for the third time, to pick up my new can. I even called again while en route to let them know I was running ten minutes behind. The gentleman on the phone assured me it was fine. Nothing else was said. When I arrived and entered, every person I looked at looked surprised to see me. Eventually, I got to speak with the super sweet woman from the phone. That's when it got fun.
She explained to me that I was supposed to make the purchase, wait for it to arrive, make an appointment for fingerprinting, wait for approval, THEN come back and retrieve my purchase. I assure you, dear reader, this was the very first time any of this was explained to me and would have been absolutely acceptable had literally anyone explained it to me before this point. I tried to wrap my head around what had happened, what was happening, and what would eventually happen since no amount of debating would change Federal law. I simply asked her why was this the first I was being told this and why was I allowed to make this appointment. She became progressively more belligerent and insulting placing all the blame on me, the guy that made the $2000+ purchase last week. It was surreal. After realizing further conversation would be fruitless, I simply left and drove home, kind of in shock.
I got a call the next day from the other co-owner telling me what I already knew. If I wanted my suppressor, I would have to make the drive at least two more times. I REALLY didn't want to do that, not just because of the time cost but because I just don't like to patronize businesses that are that crappy to their clients. I told him I would simply like to cut my losses and cancel the order. He said he would be charging $300+ for a "restocking fee" for canceling the sale. I emphasized his business's role in the situation and suggested that a full refund was appropriate. He disagreed. So, I'm out a crap ton of time, a little over $300 and I have nothing but frustration to show for it. I'm glad I live so far away, so I don't have to think about that...
Read moreI had the privilege of visiting the Main Line Armory this past weekend where I had nothing but the best experience of any indoor shooting range thus far. It by far surpassed any expectations I had! Pulling up to this massive building seemed a bit overwhelming at first as I did not know what to expect as most gun clubs I have become accustomed to tended to be cold and very impersonal.
As I entered, it was nothing but spectacular! I knew at this moment that this was NOT your average gun club, rather this was something unique! There were areas to shop for apparel, handguns, accessories and anything you could imagine that you might need to accommodate your hobby or trade. The sitting area to the left caught my eye. I began to walk over to get a closer look, and I noticed that there were dog tags from our fellow fallen soldiers so precisely hung from the ceiling above on display. It touched my heart as I felt it was such a remarkable tribute to those who fought for our freedom; which I can appreciate having family members who have served in various branches of our armed services.
The staff was exceptionally welcoming which was yet another accolade as they made me feel comfortable; especially more so as a female walking into a new facility to target practice into an uncharted territory. I happen to be greeted by both the owner and staff member Zach who provided me simple instructions to complete a quick video tutorial and waiver prior to entering the range.
After completing this tutorial/waiver, I was ready to go! I was then greeted by another friendly staff member who shared with me various handguns that I could choose from to rent to try in the range besides the one that I had brought with me. As I was waiting for my equipment to arrive, I had the opportunity to get a tour of the facility and got to witness each detail first hand from the beautiful lounge with floor to ceiling wainscoting walls and magnificent wooden beams, plush velvet bench seating along the walls, chandeliers, a grand fire place and cigar lounge. As I was looking at this space, I could envision this being a perfect place to host a special event or fundraiser! It did not feel like your average range, rather a place you would and could bring your family to learn and get comfortable in a space that was nothing but spectacular.
Once inside the range, I found the on-site instructors (both male and female) extremely knowledgeable. They helped keep the environment safe and clean the entire time I was there. I can’t say enough about this new facility to emerge on the Main Line. The entire staff and owners were attentive to all of my needs furthermore ensuring that my time there was well spent.
For anyone; especially a female or family looking to try this or become a member and worried about the fear of being intimidated, trust me when I say, the moment you walk in, you will feel comfortable and welcomed by all that you come to meet here at the Main Line Armory!

Read moreMain Line Armory was a treat for my birthday! I took out family and friends with me to let off some steam this year. This is a great sport to consider when dealing with stress, anxiety, and just all around life's ups and downs. This sport helps you with discipline, self-respect, respect of others, focus, accuracy, self-control, and most important of all safety!
The process was great booking a party section with Main Line Armory. Customer service is very helpful. Main Line Armory put a smile on my face just knowing how professional they are. To get a great date book ahead of time. You never know how busy they are. I will consider booking maybe one to three weeks ahead of time. Considering how big your party is. After payment they will print you out a receipt for your party that you book. Main Line Armory also have memberships and other sorts of treats that you may be interested in. The best thing that I can remember is that, they'll confirm your party a day before time to remind you that you have a booking with them.
The experience was awesome! First of all they have great parking. Plenty of space for any car, SUV, or truck. When you walk into this place it's almost like a kid in a candy store for adrenaline junkies at one of John Wicks hideouts! I mean it's so professional and clean with multiple weapons on the wall. Walking up to the front desk with my family and friends, I felt like this is going to be an awesome experience! The people there are very kind professionals that care about your safety at all times. They provide you with safety glasses in earmuffs. After checking in and buying ammo, you have several selections of weapons to choose from! So let the fun begin! First person shooter here we come! The ultimate real life experience of a first-person shooter video game view!
I hope you will enjoy your first time as much as I enjoyed my first time at Main Line Armory!
