Yesterday my wife and I came into your store to do our shopping as weāve done many many times before. We are frequent shoppers as this is our neighborhood store. We recognize that while your store is more expensive than other stores like Woodmans we prefer to shop with you as the quality is better in some departments. We feed our family from your store. We celebrate our holidays with your store. My birthday cakes come from your store. That being said yesterday was to be a quick small visit. As is usual we pulled in through the front door and past the signs saying masks are required. As I had left our home I had grabbed masks for both my wife and myself, which we both were wearing. So we get in and past bakery and into the produce area. I see sumo oranges ! Yay! Best part of my day. Then I see this middle aged man in some kind of black shirt trying to stay relevant with no mask on. I donāt see any manager around. I wait and converse with my wife for just a minute or so. Still no manager. I yell out āput on your fāing mask ā rather loudly. Itās like is there anyone in this building willing to do their jobs? . The man ignores and I say it again, or something of that nature. Iām done. We get the things we need and we move to the deli and meat departments , someone approaches and says the situation is being handled . We get to the meat dept and now we see this person is having a conversation with two staff member. He then continues on shopping. The staff member approaches me , and says he heard there was a situation . I tell him the man isnāt wearing a mask and that the store it appears to refusing to enforce its own policy. The assistant manager tells me itās not enforced itās a request. The place is now swarming with staff when just 4 minutes ago it was a ghost town. Apparently getting loud got attention and I expressed my opinion to the assistant manager that itās a complete failure and disrespect to my family to allow others to prioritize their health concerns over mine. I removed my mask . Iām done shopping at any Festival as they are disrespectful and insensitive to the health concerns of long time customers who shop their stores. I will be shopping at Woodmans which has better prices and actually enforces the mask mandate. I am expecting a call from the store manager Michael but Iām more than sure it will exactly what I got from their Corporate office. Nothing. Hy-Vee is months away and this is how they choose to treat their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe always use festival for their seafood typically because it seems to be the freshest and largest selection in the area. We don't usually do much other shopping there because the prices aren't as comparable but after today that may change. My family and I wanted to do a seafood boil as a first day of school treat. We went to this festival and started looking at what we wanted, we ordered 3 pounds of crab legs and 3 pounds of mussels. The woman helping us(Angie) was so friendly and talking us through our purchase, when Angie went to get us the mussels she took the time to be sure they were all alive which coming from all over the country where fresh seafood is abundant it was normal practice for me but I have never seen anyone in this area go that extra mile. when she went through all the mussels y'all had she asked an associate to look for more and when no more turned up she offered deals on other shellfish to fill our boil. The level of service is unmatched in the area and made us feel very special. Thank you Angie for making our first day of school seafood boil a huge hit, the girls loved it so much they didn't even mind...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn the bakery section, they sell sprinkles that you can purchase for holiday baking and such. In years past, I could get Christmas colored sprinkles. This year all the sprinkles are solid colors meaning one container is all red, another all green, and another all white. Each container cost $4 so to have Christmas colors, I would need to buy $12 worth of sprinkles. I kindly ask the bakery lady if there was a way to mix up the 3 sprinkle colors for Christmas sprinkles because I didnāt need 3 tubs of sprinkles nor could I justify spending $12 to buy 3 containers to mix myself. She was extremely rude and said no what you see is how we sell them. Thereās an extremely large table full of solid colored sprinkles. Clearly no one is buying these sprinkles so they will more than likely be toss after the holidays anyways! I feel as a consumer you would be more than likely to sell them with some color variations. Christmas colors, valentines colors etc etc. Nobody is gonna want solid colored sprinkles or pay $4 each to mix your own when you can go to Walmart and buy sprinkles with color...
