This is not a knock. It's just the truth. A deep review of this restaurant. First and for most is my rating style/system. #1 Customer Service #2 Food #3 Cleanliness #4 Overall (Personal Thoughts)
Now with #1. Customer service has to be open-minded here. Family owned and ran. One of those places where you have to make yourself comfortable for the most part. Like seating yourself and calling out to the waiter like it's bar or a food line. Not a plus and not a minus. I really don't mind the culture here for service. Only issue would be not getting an "ordered item", which happened on two separate occasions. Very disappointing indeed. You could say it's not as professional because orders are sometimes missed. Then there is the issue of the only waiter is on lunch, during work hours right in front of the customers. To make matters tougher, though it's a cute gesture, they sometimes have a littler helper do the waiters job. So ok, not too big of a deal because it's a "family oriented" environment. Overall it could use a bit of more professionalism in food ordering and waiter duties. RATING of 2/5
#2 The food here is of wide variety/style, which is great for food goers like me. Almost all the typical food you would find in every Asian restaurant. A Hmong cuisine twist on Hmong, Thai, Laos, Chinese, and etc. Now with the taste. Not the best pad thai or pho I've had but they are tasty enough to fulfill you wants and needs. Most of their dishes are good. Sushi is actually great considering it's eau claire, wi and we are far from good fresh seafood. Definitely one of the highlights but you will have to break the bank a little with their well above average prices for sushi. Worth a go at though if you got the cravings. Only thing that bothered me was I got cold, like refrigerator cold food. And I've had the dish three times. It was obviously already cooked, refrigerated and served. This assumption is based on the fact that the meat portioning was half the size and it was cold to the touch. Other than this issue, overall good food. RATING of 3/5
#3 Hmm. It is clean but could be cleaner. I mostly knock cleanliness based on what I see all around me. Table tops, plates, utensils, cleaning process, who is serving the food (I never feel too confident when a random person from the kitchen/back comes out with my food and they look like a cook of some sort, this goes for all places. Not saying it happened here), and last but not least the BATHROOM. No one wants to enter a horror movie scene or the local farm. The bathroom here was good enough. Overall it is clean place. RATING of 3/5
#4 I feel like I've been here enough times at different hours of the day (five times plus one order to go) to say I don't like the customer service here. Missed food orders (twice), Cold food (huge downer and no no), and what bugs me the most is the actual customer service. I've seen "their" personal family members walk in RANDOMLY and get served before others. As a paying customer, I know our time and money is more precious then free food to family members. Sorry to say so. That's how I feel and how things went. RATING of 1/5
RECAP So if you are ok with all of these possibilities happening then by all means go for it. It is not like this is happening everyday but maybe most days? I don't know. You will enjoy the food but have to work around the customer service. But sadly for me. I won't be a repeat customer anymore. Unless customer service turns up a notch or I have a personal gathering here.
Well thanks for tuning in and enjoy the rest of...
Read moreWent to Muang Thai and ordered the Blazing Shrimp. They offer 5 levels of spice: Mild, medium, spicy, Thai spicy, and one spicier than that but I don’t remember what it was called because I wouldn’t dare consider it for myself 😂 I ordered mine at “spicy” level with a side of plain fried rice and I loved it!! You got quite a few (as seen in the photo, approximately 10-12) of good sized, properly cooked shrimp and some lightly sautéed, still crisp veggies, exactly how I like them. Not pictured was a side of rice which was very large. My daughter and I ended up sharing this meal because I ended up bringing home half- it was more than enough to feed us both.
I would say the spice level I chose was at the top of my tolerance level but no complaints as I hate when I order “spicy” food that is bland. Definitely not the case here. Next time I will likely order medium as after eating a few bites the heat just took over my mouth, but this did make me eat slower so maybe not a bad thing?
I also tried my husbands teriyaki chicken a which was also delicious. It was cooked perfectly and very flavorful and his portion was also large.
The value was great- we both ordered water to drink and with both our meals it was under $30. I gave 5 stars for the
In addition to awesome food, the service was great too. Prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was nothing fancy but it was clean. There is plenty of parking and it is...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I certainly did not have the experience of a "customer". My kids and I walked in and waited briefly at the door expecting someone to direct us to a table. There were no responses other than blank stares from the cooking area. With my kids being impatience, we proceeded to a table. A server walked by our table minutes later without saying a single word and took the payment of a customer seating in the table next to us and then walked away. We then waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, and waited for another SIX minutes but one servers seem to notice our present. After about 7 long minutes, a group of customers walked in and were greeted then lead to a table, that lone and incompetent server went handed those customers menus. I then said to myself, my hard earned $$$$$$$$$$$$ is worth spending else where. My kids and I got up and WALKED OUT!!! I've never walk out of a restaurant before until stepping into this...
