2 months ago I posted a 3 star review regarding my opinion and experiences with the Regal Edgemont Square 10 theater.
In that post, I mentioned that there were 2 things I didn't like. To be fair, 1 of my issues is very difficult to control and it involves cell phone use. That said if people have lost all sense of respect for others and lack the attention span necessary to sit through a movie without checking their social media - I would expect the theaters to combat it to the best of their abilities.
While on vacation last summer, I visited a movie house which had a solid albeit short wall behind each row of seats. It was low enough to let the person in the next row comfortably watch the screen, however you could not see anyone sitting in the row below you. As a default this also blocked a view to their disruptive cell phone use (should they do that). In lieu of disabling the signals, I wish all theaters updated to a similar system.
I also mentioned that this theater was holding back the sale of box office tickets for upcoming releases until a couple of days prior to releasing on Fridays. My wife and I are avid movie people. It is not unusual to go watch a new movie every weekend if a "good one" is available. At this time the Regal Edgemont is our preferred movie house and with reserve seating available it is convenient for us to purchase "next week's release" while we're there. As I mentioned above, the problem is they would not do this forcing customers to either make an extra trip to the theater during the week (Tuesday - Thursday) to pick up tickets for the weekend and/or paying Fandango, etc. a convenience fee to pre-order the ticket. At the time of the first post I rated the theater a 3 star (mostly due to this inconvenience). I have now edited my previous post and rated it 4 stars because (at least this summer) I have noticed that they are once again selling most upcoming movie the weekend before. If there was a change to this policy - I THANK YOU! and will continue to watch my movies there.
Other than that, this theater is great. Plenty of parking, clean (including the bathrooms), friendly employees, close restaurants. I hope this post...
Read morei’ve been to this theater so many times, and every single time it’s been the best experience ever. almost every single time i've ever been here my best friend has been with me, and it’s kind of our thing to go to this theater all the time whenever we see an interesting movie that we wanna watch. as i said, we’ve been here about thirty times in the last year which i think is quite a lot, and we’ve never had any trouble getting into a movie, whether it be r-rated or pg-13. me and my best friend walked in to watch an r-rated horror movie (and even then, barely even classified as horror and the only reason its rated r is because of violence) and we bought all of our food beforehand like we always do, and then went to the usher to scan our tickets. the usher then proceeded to not let us in because we didn’t look like we were 18 and we didn’t have id with us. this has literally never happened to us before, and we’ve seen countless r rated movies here before. then the usher told us to either get a refund or exchange the tickets for a different movie. we couldn’t see a different movie though because we had somewhere to be right after the movie that we had planned specifically for the time that the movie ran. i had to get a refund but still that wasn’t a full refund because the tax doesn’t count, and we also had already bought all of our food (which was about 20 dollars) and ended up throwing away our food before we even had a chance to eat it because we had to leave the theater. clearly i’m outraged because this has been my favorite movie theater that i visit at least twice a month, and it’s me and my best friends favorite thing to do together and we weren’t let in because we didn’t have id for a horror movie about a bear. i just think it’s ridiculous that i can’t even get into a movie that i paid for, and then wasn’t even apologized to for this stupid formality, after i had already bought all of our...
Read moreI went to see the new Dragon Ball movie with my younger sister, we both love the franchise and i was excited to spend some time with her. when we walked up to the table where they check your tickets, there was no one there. the movie started at 12:40, i had already waited in line for about 5 minutes so i wasn’t about to sit here and wait for someone. so, we found our theatre as other people did too. upon entering, the movie had already started (not a huge deal it was still early), but there was no sound. so we went back out to find an employee and there was no one except the busy cashier. we finally see someone after about 5 minutes and they walk away after looking right at us as we try to get their attention. when we finally get him over, he calls a manager and then we see 2 people walk into a private room to fix the sound. once again we are completely ignored. we wait for a long time before anyone comes out and at this point we’ve missed over 20 minutes of the movie if you include the fact that we got in there late. i assume they fix the sound but me and my sister both are upset and just want to go home because even if we started watching it was too late into the movie for us to understand anything. we get one of the male managers to give us a refund, i think his name was steve. he was having trouble with the system to refund me, it’s okay…not his fault. but then when he finally refunds me he refunds me for matinee prices when i paid for full price movie tickets online. i didn’t have it in me to argue or protest over a couple of bucks and my 7 year old sister was already upset so we just left. i’ve never had a problem with this theatre till now but i think we’ll stick to amc...
