DY is honestly so hit or miss in terms of customer service here. This store genuinely is the epitome of “dress the part”. I’ve purchased several luxury items from their competitors, and went in here to get a bag and some tissue paper for a box chain that I purchased elsewhere. I called ahead and spoke to a very kind associate who told me I could come in and receive a bag and tissue paper, but I would not receive an ornament. This was totally fine with me! I walked in here, was not greeted but they were very busy for the holidays. After walking around an associate asked who was next to be assisted. I noticed a collection that was inspired by some Japanese works, and asked him if he could advise me in any way in terms of a nice pendant for a men’s chain that was Japanese inspired. My partner just went to Japan and I wanted something for him to remember the trip. He told me blankly that there are many men’s pendants and none of them have Japanese inspiration, as we stood right next to this collection? Regardless, I asked him for the tissue paper and bag. He said “well I can’t give you that without a purchase today”. I responded, well that is strange as I called five minutes ago and was told I could have accommodation. He asked me who I talked to, and when I didn’t know her name, then went into the back and hesitantly handed me tissue paper. I could tell her was not into assisting me because I was wearing more vintage clothing, as opposed to the more modern clothing I wear when I receive incredible customer service from them. Read moreI’ve bought several DY items throughout the past 2 years or so and only recently has my experience and confidence in the product diminished. I purchased a nice gemstone ring with diamonds that my husband gifted me for Christmas. It was an upgrade to a sapphire ring he had given me from Macy’s (about $150) when we were in high school! Both made of silver and with small diamonds around the main gem. This DY ring however has had diamonds fall out on three separate occasions! The first two times this occurred DY fixed but it was an 8 week wait each time. This 3rd time they indicated it was past warranty and I would need to pay about $140 to have it fixed. The ring is only 1 1/2 years old and should not be breaking this much I feel it was compromised from the beginning. The manager said it’s because I wear it everyday and it’s silver and the prongs aren’t as sturdy but I still feel like you should stand by your product more at the price point they are asking. My $150 sapphire that I wore everyday (also silver) for nearly 10+ years never once had a diamond fall out so having this occur 3 times in one and half years on an $850 ring seems like bad quality and customer service.
