My friends and I had a 10am reservation for Sunday brunch. @ 9:58am I walked into the entrance behind a staff person to check in For our rez. I was met by a bald man with eye grasses propped atop his head. He immediately said in a very intense and snotty tone “umm were not open yet” and I said “oh! i have a reservation @ 10am” and he said “yep, we’re not open yet!” So I turned and left. I saw a group of people at a booth drinking out of muggs, lots of lights and music on so it appeared to be okay to enter, the front doors were closed which is an obvious sign they were still closed but I followed in another person who ended up being staff. An oversight of mine but Anyway- I was NOT greeted with a smile or friendly greeting and left feeling like a complete fool for thinking I could show up 2 minutes before my reservation. I think it’s completely realistic to check in a few minutes before an appointment or reservation in this world! What a joke that “manager’s” attitude was- obviously not cut out for the hospitality industry?! I work full time in customer service and have spent over 20 years working on/off part-time at high end wineries and restaurants. I wouldn’t dream of greeting (or not greeting) a guest as he did. I get it, your not ready for guests, it likely happens a lot, it’s annoying- but approach guests paying $30+ per person for a meal as if your paycheck depends on it.
As we dined our food was warm and pretty decent, loved the complimentary turtle bread rolls. The server seemed slightly annoyed and our food came within 5-10 minutes after we ordered. Towards the end up until we left the staff continued to clear our tables, bring checks without asking if we were ready for them and discontinued water and coffee refreshes after our checks were paid. We were all gathered by 10:30am and left by 12:30pm, there were many open tables around us but we felt rushed out or as if it was annoying like we were “camping out” I know that 2 hours of a meal is pretty common with a larger group of people catching up- not rushing off to catch a show or a movie. Not the ‘COV Galleria’ experiences we were all expecting! Super bummed as we hadn’t gotten our best friend group together...
Read moreThe food here is great, and we come here often. However, we find there is a single problem that consistently happens every time we visit. When we dine here, we have to guard our food from the workers who fill water and bus dishes. It has gotten to a point where we have to be aware of the workers and make sure that everytime they pass us that we have our hands on a plate. However, even if we do, they still try to take it. The last time we dined here, I placed food on my sideplate, and the worker swooped in and picked up the plate to take it away. Another time, we had at least half of a $30 appetizer left, and I was eating food off of the plate. They picked the appetizer up WHILE I was actively eating off of it to take it away. I don’t understand why they have to place their hands on the plate and pick it up before asking if they can take it. Sometimes, like the last time we came here, they don’t even ask if they can take it. They just take it from you once you stop touching the plate for a minute. And it isn’t just once per visit, they hover and take the plate with food still on it at least three times per visit.
Everything else is amazing, but it is not an enjoyable experience to dine here when you feel like you constantly have to protect your food. We are ALWAYS in and out in an hour or less, so it isn’t like we were sitting there for hours. I don’t think they should be touching plates that people are not finished with, and I doubt that we are the only people experiencing this. I wish I could have a relaxing experience here, but it is always the topic of conversation that lasts our entire meal starting about 10 minutes after receiving our food! Please tell your workers to be a little less active with taking the plates! Once when they see that the food is finished is great, but not every 5 minutes while we are still eating the food they try to take. This happens during brunch,...
Read moreThe food was amazing and I highly recommend it.
We ordered truffle arancini, fig & walnut salad and wood grilled salmon. The food was delicious and presented well. Staff is friendly and ambiance is quiet and nice.
Truffle arancini is absolutely amazing. Even though it is fried it was so light. I did not even feel the cheese as it quietly melts in your mouth leaving a lingering taste of basil pesto over risotto. Soft and melting on inside, it is crispy on outside. I would recommend it!
The salad was a surprise for me. I normally do not like salads but this is a journey of flavours. The figs and nuts have a lovely coating of cinnamon which balances so well with the vinaigrette. Oh it is such a delight on the tongue.
The fish really blew me over. It was crispy but so soft from inside. I got it medium rare. It has the smoky wood grill flavour. The taste is just right! The pesto, potatoes and greens give a nice kick with the lemon and pepper coating. Every bite made me want it more and more. I think the chef is so amazing to pay attention to detail to each flavour. The greens and potatoes were grilled just right to perfection and matches well with the fish.
The portions are good so after eating all that we were way too full to eat anything else. The above meal was shared between two people. We also ordered their alcohol free ginger drink (it was that day’s special and I don’t remember the name, sorry) and pina colada. They both tasted awesome!
I loved every thing here. The presentation was great, the staff was great, the service was great, the food was great and the ambiance was great! It has those large french doors that open into the patio. I would recommend going there on a nice sunny day and sit outside!
What we were impressed with the most is that after eating all that the bill was under $100. I think that is the best meal I had in...
