I read a lot of the reviews prior to writing this one. I agree with some of the concerns that have been expressed. I have had multiple online orders canceled without notice and I do think the store needs more employees as well. My rating is mostly reflective of the employees and manager of the store. This store specifically is cleaner than others I have been to. They have everything I am looking for when I go there, but even with cancellations and sparse employees in the store, the staff is absolutely amazing.
I had an incident with a Dollar General employee who, does not work at this store but was working at this store the day I went shopping there. The incident itself was extremely upsetting. I went to the self checkout register. One of the regular employees was replacing the receipt paper on the register I went to use. Standing there waiting for her to finish, she could see I was about to cry. She asked me if I was okay. I proceeded to explain to her what had transpired 10 minutes prior involving an employee there. During my conversation with her, I really tried hard not to cry, but I was a mess because of the incident. This employee stopped everything she was doing, listened, genuinely comforted me in that moment and gave me the general manager's personal number. I contacted him and he initiated an investigation into what had happened at their store. During this time he communicated with me several times and handled my complaint with the seriousness it deserved.
I recently visited the store for the first time since the incident I spoke of. There was new employees who were amazing to deal with.
Sometimes you need to remember the issues in a store have nothing to do with the employees or management. They are only doing the best they can with what corporate has given them.
I won't shop at any other Dollar general. This store has shown that they truly care about their customers and will do what they can to help you in...

So I walk into this store today, grab a couple of items I needed and beelined to the checkout line. The store was receiving a drink shipment and I noticed that an employee (who was standing maybe 6 feet away) dealing with the vendor. I stand and wait. A good 2.5 minutes pass, this employee looks in my direction, SEES ME and continues talking to the vendor. I wait another couple minutes and then I audibly said, "Can I get checked out, please?" My tone was neutral, I wasn't loud. The employee stomps towards the checkout aisle (Thank God) and then right before she scanned my first item, stated, "Did you not see me dealing with that guy? You didn't have to be rude!" Wait....I am rude because I didn't want to wait 15 minutes or however long for you to finish what you were doing? So, I responded, "I am sorry to be impatient but I need to drop my kids off at school." The employee then loudly responds telling me to "STOP. You can leave!" Ordinarily, I would, but I needed these items so I told her, "You didn't even acknowledge that I was standing here." I have worked retail at many years and do know what customer service is. This employee, called Tonya was the one who was rude for 1) Not acknowledging waiting customers 2) Showing indifference and escalating a situation that didn't need to be. I hope she is not the Manager. Did I mention this store is so disorganized, mess and dirty ALL the time? Maybe Tonya should be busy getting this taken care of instead of jawing at customers who earn her a paycheck. Do not recommend patronizing this dump. Dollar...

I walked in to the store tonight with the manager or shift leader outside on her phone, inside there is a gentleman at the register cussing to all the customers in the store because it wasn't his fault someone came behind the counter I guess? He kept dropping cuss words left and right too all of the customers making it very uncomfortable. Talking about if there was or wasn't a god, allah, or budah. I get into my car to look out and see yet again the manager/shift lead on her phone again. That is after she went back inside instigated a little more by repeatedly telling him don't let people behind the counter, arguing with him and walking back out. Jim and his shift lead made this encounter extremely unfamily friendly and quiet frankly I will not be coming back to this store.
