I normally don’t do reviews but today I thought I should. Todays 1st time experience was not pleasant at all, matter of fact it was very uncomfortable and non welcoming. When i get inside I immediately realize there is no air conditioning inside. They are using fans to cool the area down in front foyer. No problem at all. There was one lady in front and she just kept working and never said anything until I fully walked up to the counter. I’ll be with you in a min she then says. And I’m like ok cool but the demeanor I received from her was very forceful almost as if. She was upset that she had to stop what she was doing to take my order. So I proceeded to tell the lady my order and everything I wanted. I finish and then payed the lady for what I ordered. out of 20 bucks I had 3 dollars and some change left which would have been a tip if I were pleased with service . I sit down and wait for food and while waiting a white guy comes in and she treated him extra special . when he got to the counter she took his order was very nice laughed smiled gave him his receipt and all very pleasant to him which left me confused because my experience just 3 min prior was not that experience, so I just kept observing what was happening. When my order was ready I asked for extra sweet and sour sauce and she said you got sweet and sour chicken you got sweet and sour sauce so I just said ok thank you! I know what I ordered and I asked for extra sauce and would have paid for it. The thing I realized is, they serve people of color but I don’t think they like people of color. So the interaction is quite different than if you are white. Definitely will not go back but thought I should warn anyone that is black. I chose to try them out the first time after repeatedly getting sick from food from another Chinese restaurant that was supposed to be MSG free. I'm allergic to MSG and shell fish. China King advertises that they are also an MSG FREE establishment. Well, the good news is, I didn't get sick after eating there the first time or this time either! The food is good too. I can't say that it is the best Chinese food here in Edmond, but it is very tasty! The order I placed today was for delivery. I called to place the order and spoke to a man named Randy. He was extremely friendly and made sure that my order was correct. I wanted to order a PuPu Platter but it has fried shrimps in it. I asked to substitute 2 teriyaki chicken sticks the 4 jumbo shrimps since I am severely allergic to Shell fish like I had done the time before. Randy asked the owner and I could hear her telling him they don't allow Substitutes. Ok, well they allowed it the first time I ordered from them so, I didn't understand why they would not allow for it this time. So, I just ordered 2 egg rolls and some sweet and sour chicken instead of the PuPu Platter. The rest of the order consisted of Sesame Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, Beef Chow Mein, and some Egg Drop Soup that my daughter just had to have. Randy, the man who took my order, also delivered it. He was courteous, friendly and professional. I left him a nice top! Upon inspection of the order, not only was the food nice and hot, there was more than enough food to feed 4-5 people! Imagine ordering dinner for yourself and two young children only to discover that your order was given to someone else. They kept telling me they gave my order to some man with long hair, as if that would somehow help me get my food! Only after verifying several times, and expressing an abundant display of frustration did this establishment say “okay okay we will remake the order!” Can you imagine how embarrassing it feels to have to beg someone to correct an error THEY made…With absolutely zero apologies? They acted like they were doing me a favor, when another patron confirmed they gave the order to the wrong person!
