Boot Barn — Local services in El Centro

This place is unbelievable!

I am a credit card holder here and a United States Navy Veteran.

With my veteran status, I receive a 10% discount there as it is their company policy.

I have shopped there many times and spent $1,000's of dollars at this location.

Unfortunately my wallet was stolen recently so I went in to shop for a new wallet. I bought my last one there as well.

I finally found the wallet that I liked ($55 wallet) and went to pay for it and reminded them that I get the 10% because of my veteran status.

They said they needed to see my veteran ID. I informed them about my situation and that my wallet was stolen with all of my ID'S and credit cards.

They said they did recognize me from shopping there. Still, they refused to give me my discount. So I said okay I won't be buying it then and left.

I went back a few minutes later to kindly ask them if they could look in their computer and see my transaction history so they can see all of my transactions had the military discount applied.

I also asked for their names so I could escalate this with corporate Bootbarn. She told me to leave or she would call the police on me!!!

I did not raise my voice and was not out of control in any way. I left at her request and went to buy a wallet somewhere else.

I get a call from the El Centro Police Dept. I told him everything that happened, and he told me the employee (Kennedy I think, because both her and the manager gave me their names but then wouldn't repeat it). The police officer told .e that they told him I was leaning over the counter and screaming at them.

That is a flat out lie! Then the police officer went to my wife's work and talked with her. She was very busy with customers and it was very embarrassing.

I am filling a lawsuit against bootbarn for many different valid reasons. They also made a false official police report.

The cameras will prove non of this happened.

The boot barn here is OK. Selection and quality are diverse and good. You can pretty much find anything you would be looking for at a good price. The store is well organized and clean on the inside, and everything is always in stock. I agree with other comments that say the outside of the area is in need to look more appealing since, at first glance, it looks unwelcoming and a bit dirty/gloomy on the outside. On another note, the customer service here is hit or miss, depending on who is on shift, apparently from other comments and my personal experience. Definitely not so welcoming for some reason, and it just felt like asking them for help or an item was bothersome to the staff. Overall, this is my experience, to each their own...

It would be a nice Boot Barn, employees are friendly and helpful. However, after all the hype of finally getting a boot barn in the valley, I was super disappointed in their women’s selection. One sad partial shelf of women’s work boots and half the general boot rack space worth of men’s work stuff? And no women’s work pants at all. Plenty of dresses, but no work pants? Not even regular women’s wranglers or carharts, just the rhinestone cowgirl getups. Big let down, looks like we all still have to go to Yuma for...
