Harbor Freight — Local services in El Centro

The store manager was called up to the front of the store to help customers that were waiting in line to pay. We had the unfortunate experience in having to deal with his lack of customer service, courtesy and simple appreciation that we are shopping in his store.

When the manager arrived at the cash register he didn't say a word or any form of greeting. The vibe was unwelcoming and unfriendly throughout the entire transaction. We had to ask for a HF bag and he just tossed it on the counter. We had to bag our own purchases. We had to ask him for our receipt and for our change, which I had to count to make sure it was correct because he just handed me the loose change and bills.

No thank you no nothing when we left. It's kind of apparent now for us, why it is a hit or miss in customer service when we visit this store.

Therefore this is an abridged version of our experiences at this...

I went to this local seeking to buy a list of around 9 articles, a purchase of around 800 dlls. I had the serial numbers of the items, when I got to the counter seeking guidance to find them and to ask for said items prices, the personal at the counter acted very harshly towards me, and said that I myself should look for the items. He proceeded to say that he only got paid 25 dlls the hour and it was not its place to look for the items, in the end he did went for the articles but with a very bad attitude futhermore, he never gave me the prices before the purchase. After his rude behaviour I ask to speak with the manager, the said guy stated he was the manager, however, this was not the case. I need to buy the items and so I did, but I left the place feeling humiliated...

Good place to get good (albeight not the very best) tools at good reasonable prices. I guess my only bone to pick with these guys is that they don't offer free shipping or delivery (perhaps they will in the future to remain competitive)... their clearance items are always worth checking out.... And as mentioned before... I think the tools sold here are good enough for the average everyday person who keeps a tool box at home or for someone who constantly loses or misplaces their tools (that's me) and doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg for those other premium...
