My purpose for communicating with you is because 3 months ago I had a problem in one of your stores located at 3518 Montana Ave. I have been shopping at that store for more than 20 years before it was Food King when it was Big 8 and I carry my cart. shopping and I placed it under their shopping carts that day I did the same and a worker there followed me and asked me to leave my cart in front I asked him if they had parcels he told me no I told him if they don't have parcels I can't leave it because I forget or someone could steal it. He answered, I'm going to call a supervisor. I continued shopping. The supervisor arrived and told me to leave the cart in front or leave the store. I refused, so he was aggressive. and he pulled the cart and he told me to leave, I told him okay, I'm leaving, he stood in front of me and I said, let me pass and I pushed him and I left. 3 months later I had to go to the store today, the day of the eclipse, when I was going to pay. He went with 6 workers there and made me leave the store because he would call the police for the assault 3 months ago. Ok, I left and my friend who was accompanying me felt humiliated and I felt harassed, discriminated against and humiliated because of this, as I said. At first I have been shopping there for more than 20 years. I hope you can help me and that this is resolved in...
Read moreFood King is one of the store on my cheap-shopping map. This is the second time I go to this store location in particular, the first time everything went fine. But this time I was asked to let my backpack at the customer service office or something like that. I was really uncomfortably surprised since it didn't happen the first time, and honestly, it never happened before at other Food King's locations. For me it is no easy to get all my valuable stuff (wallet, phone, headphones, etc ) out of my bag pocket and walk arround the store with all those stuff hanging on me beside the shopping cart, I just have one hand, amputee. I don't even use plastic bags when I got my things at the store, I use my own and only one bag when I go shopping because ecological convictions first and then it is easier for me having one hand as well. So, if at that store have been issues with people stealing using their bags, there are other ways to resolve the problem, you can't just throw everybody away in the same bag of prejudices when they come into the store with a bagpack. Furthermore if -as me - the person is using the backpack as an extension of them - because a disability - to move arround in a more...
Read moreFood King is a decent grocery store. A few changes happened since they rebranded from Big 8 into Food King for better or worse.
The biggest one is they no longer sell hot food like Carnitas, Menudo, Arroz, Pollo, Burritos etc. A big loss for me.
But they do have some great sales on meats, just gotta check that ad every week and something you want will probably be on sale.
The prices did go down and are sometimes cheaper than even Walmart. Cheapest beer I've found so far! $1.50+ for the tall boy cans, Wally world usually has them for $2. 7-11 still comes out a dollar up too with their specials.
The produce is fresh, though it can be a mixed bag depending on the day of the week and the quality of the shipment.
Those lines used to be a problem but since the new place opened up, and it's lower price points attracted more people, the lines have only gotten longer. But it's all about timing and patience. The cashier's up front do a good job though!
Based on what I was explained they needed to lower costs and bring in more customers and on that, they...
