I came to this salon a year before just for a haircut and the experience was good. Fast forward a year later I want to book an appointment again and I ran into some complications. I have a lot of hair and it’s long and curly so I always call before I Book an appointment to ask when they have time and for someone who has experience cutting curly hair. This time I called a day before and there was no answer but it was after hours so I just booked the appointment online for the next day at 4:00pm which was the only time available. I also wanted a deep conditioning and a blow out but the website didn’t have those options. I decided to book the haircut and then I would call the next day to ask if I can get the other services as well.the next day, I called every few hours since 10am and no one answered until about 2 pm and I let loralai know what I wanted done she agreed and said to meet her at the time I set the appointment for. I arrive about 5 min before the appointment and as I’m parking I get a call that I missed and a text saying she can’t do the appointment today because she had to pick up her kids from school at 5 and if I could reschedule for another day. I said I can’t because this is the day that I have free and ask her why she didn’t let me know before she said that she didn’t know and forgot to tell me when she answered before. She didn’t give me any other option and I cancelled with her and went somewhere else. All of this could have been avoided if she had answered her phone earlier any of the other times i had called or if she would have let me know anywhere between the time she actually answered and agreed to the services and the actual appointment. Read moreI cannot praise Lola's incredible talent enough!!!!! I heard about her through a friend and was able to book an appointment within a few days. I wanted to find someone local that could deliver a funky mullet, a look I had been wanting for a while. I also was interested in a touch up of my blonde. I arrived for my appointment and was kind of nervous because I knew my hair wasn't in the best shape after my last DIY bleach. Lola's energy put me at ease immediately. She is so fabulous and genuinely sweet. She told me my hair needed time to heal before I could touch it up. She recommended product and a regimen I could do at home to nurse it back to health. She said we can check up on it after a few weeks and when it's healthier, we can color. I was so grateful for her honesty! I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and she absolutely delivered! I had her stop before it was looking exactly like the pic because it was kinda short. I contacted her a few days later and said I changed my mind and can I please come back to shorten the sides. I was prepared to pay for a whole new hair cut but she said she gives her clients a week to modify the cut if they want. I returned today and she did exactly what I asked. Read moreOVER CHARGES!! A warning to anyone booking appointments with “Lola”. I was charged almost double than what is quoted on her website for highlights. According to Lola, and I’m quoting here, “If you don’t ask about the price, then I can charge you whatever I want. You know nothing about the hair styling business.” I informed her, her job was to be upfront with an estimated price. She has been doing this for 11 years!! Quoting Lola, “ I cannot tell what the cost will be UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE!! I should have charged you over $400 for this highlight, not the $295 (add in the tip of $59. I always tip 20%). This after she looked at my granddaughters hair the day prior to her appointment, discussed what she was going to do, and how long the procedure would take. I’m also quoting Lola stating “If a client doesn’t ask about the price then I assume I can charge whatever I feel like. Some people are on a budget and some aren’t.” This is not how small businesses should treat clients.
