I'm giving 2 ⭐ 's. They have great merchandise at great prices, so it was a "potential" 5 ⭐, but when it came to checking out at the register it all fell apart. We were the 5th or 6th customer waiting in the "impulse buy" isle moving at a decent pace towards our purchase. We were next in line to one of two cashier's, the customer to our right had 2 orders and a buggy full of clothes. The other cashier was finishing a sale, the customer left and we apparently disappeared because the cashier didn't look at us, talk to us or even acknowledge our presence. After stapling a couple pieces of paper, the cashier turned around and started talking to what appeared to be a shift leader/manager, who also was ignoring our existence, behind the counter. Retail employees should never ignore a customer, especially one that is waiting to purchase items from the store. I also work in a retail environment and know that it can be hectic and busy at times. At the business I work for, we would never ignore a customer. We greet customers as they come in the door and would never do this to anyone, ever. We stood at the counter for several minutes and discussed what was going on and wondering, why we were being ignored. The other cashier was listening to us and watching us, but also never spoke to us. After a few more minutes, we put our items down in the "impulse buy" isle and walked past the working register and the cashier that ran it, still with her back to us and walked out of the store. Still not a word said to either of us. I'm a Sales Representative for a reputable company and I am just amazed at the lack of customer reception, service or appreciation that we received. This was our first visit and we will probably never go back. This is not acceptable behavior for any retail environment. Everyone else seemed to have a great experience but we just weren't in the same store as them I guess. I want to say Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope no one ever has had or will have the same experience at this store, but I'm fairly certain that we can't be the only ones. Read moreI love this store!! I can always find unique things in Bealls that you can't find online or anywhere else. I find clothes, shoes (I ALWAYS find at least a couple pairs I can't live without every visit), purses, pj's, underwear, hair bobbles, jewelry, makeup, even shampoo!!! Not to mention home decor. But what actually brings me into the store every time is the cat / dog toys. Bc I don't want to pay a lot for those but my furry babies need a prize too so I always stop in Bealls to look for a cat toy but end up also getting a shower curtain, garbage can, chair for the makeup room, a jacket, a hat, and a purse to match! LOL! You can see why I need a Bealls credit card! Oh! And this might sound strange but it's one out of 3 places in the town of Elizabethton with a bathroom clean enough to actually use (the other 2 being Chick-fil-A & the public library). So I'm thankful for the clean bathroom. AND the nice, big, clean dressing rooms! I'm very thankful for those really nice dressing rooms! And the staff is always friendly and helpful. And I have had leg trouble and just went in today , In the past I have spent in burkes all over other states over about $5,000.00 in the past ten years no more will I spend one dollar here there to many other places to shop and if you really look at prices they are almost full retail . And this was my first time taking anything back ever . If your store that poor and can't give money away back after Christmas that bad business I worked 32years in retail you want last here long at this rate I will post on Facebook this untill I get tired of doing it I only have about 4900 friends times that to 2,000 each .
