BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!... my whole experience there was a total nightmare! I ended up with Sharie and she was not friendly and seemed to have an attitude and she didn't even bother to formally introduce herself. I should have known when I came in, no one smiled not even the clients, there was just a bad vibe and very dreary in there, but I thought I'd give it a try anyways. She was with another client when I came in, on time, so she had an assistant wash my hair, which is fine because her assistant was very, very nice. But Sharie didn't even bother to excuse herself to come over to say hi and explain that she was finishing with another client and her assistant would be washing me first. Very unprofessional! And she did not listen to me when I told her several times NOT to cut the length because I'm growing my hair out but just wanted it shaped better. I even showed her several pictures of the look I was going for. She ended up cutting 4 inches off not only the length but overall, and the shape is still not what totally complete!! Seemed like she did not know how to deal with my natural curls?? As soon as I sat in her chair she blurted out loudly so the whole salon could hear and asked if I was mixed and laughed and said everyone was thinking it anyways so I thought I'd just go ahead and ask, which I usually don't mind if it's done with some tact, but it was as if she was belittling me and it was embarrassing, I politely said yes I am, anyways. But she grossly underestimated my curl pattern. And proceeded to recklessly chop away at my hair while it was wet. Most people with any common sense know that naturally curly hair shrinks when it's all the way dry, whether it's, kinky, curly, wavy or whatever. At first it seemed like she knew what she was doing, then before I knew it big chunks of hair were flying all over the place. When I initially made the appointment I specifically requested to be put with someone who was good with natural curly hair. To top it all off she didn't even have styling products to style my hair with!? I understand most clients probably want weaves but if that's the case they shouldn't have accepted me as a client...I now question if she's even licensed? I guess weaves are their only interest. She then proceeded to ask me to actually go home and come back after I styled it!? Never have I been to a salon for a shampoo, STYLE and cut and been asked to go home and come back after I style my own hair with my own products. That was just extremely insulting and unprofessional in itself and and not even possible as I just had a kidney transplant surgery last week, which I informed her about, and she still had the nerve to ask me that! Half the reason I made the appointment in the first place was because I physically have a hard time styling my own hair right now because of my health. The cut was just thrown in because I had split ends and I thought a simple layered style would be easy enough to accomplish correctly, I assumed wrong! Besides I wasn't driving myself and had to get a ride there to begin with. So I ended up having to style my own hair and was still charged for it! And to top it off towards the end when she saw my real curl pattern she said "oh my kids are mixed and my daughters hair is similar to yours, I just cut it like this too", so you'd think she'd know what she was doing and she didn't. Hell, she looks mixed herself with her light skin and green eyes!! I just felt taken advantage of and I am extremely unhappy with the service, her attitude, my cut and overall experience. UPDATE * I ALSO REVIEWED THEM ON YELP AND THEY IGNORANTLY BLAMED ME FOR MY BAD EXPERIENCE!!! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL CAN A BUSINESS...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would leave this salon zero stars if I could. I was a loyal customer for almost 2 years and the way they treated me and handled things at my last appointment was out of hand and extremely unprofessional. I had an appointment to get color and a partial sew in. Pearl, Sharieās assistant, was the one who colored my hair. I wanted the color dark blue but she said I would need to bleach my hair again to achieve it. So I said no multiple times because I did not want to bleach my hair for a third time and went with the color red and this is where it all went downhill. To start she bleached my hair after I had told her not too, and when she went to dye my hair red, it ended up a ginger brown color and she had to use a red hair dye conditioner to get my hair red, not actual dye so it faded extremely fast.
But because Pearl bleached my hair again after I had already said no, the next week I noticed a large chunk of my hair had broken off. And I had called and explained to them how she had bleached my hair after I said no, and Sharie was extremely disrespectful and so was Pearl. They allowed me to come in for a wash free of charge and that made me feel better because at least they are trying to fix it. My appointment for the wash was at 9 am and Sharie did not get there until noon. And once she got there she said nothing to me and proceeded to sit in front of me and have Pearl do her hair while I have been waiting for 3 hours just for a wash and style.
The wash didnāt fix anything as you can imagine because my hair was already damaged from Pearl not listening to my request and bleaching my hair again. So I called and explained the situation to them one more time and that I felt entitled to a refund just for my color service because my hair got damaged by their stylist in their salon. Sharie would not have a full conversation with me and neither would Pearl and over the phone I could hear them all screaming about me. They had me speak to Latasha, the salon manager and she was extremely condescending and disrespectful. Every time I would bring up the fact that Pearl had damaged my hair by performing a service I said no to, she would ignore me and move on. Iām the end Latasha was the one who told me I would not be returning to the salon. They never once took responsibility for Pearl bleaching my hair after I said no.
This salon is full of gross negligence and they are very disrespectful and do mediocre work and it is honestly not worth the prices they charge.
This salon should not be a top choice for people with kinkier curls. Do not waste your money, I have been going to her salon for almost two years and my hair does not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not the type of person to leave reviews unless my experience was amazing or really bad... unfortunately I have to write this with a really bad experience. Iām a very understanding person but the service I experienced was not okay. I texted the number I was told to and told them I wanted full color and a press, they said okay. When I got to my appt they said they didnāt know I wanted āthisā color...? Iām not sure why they didnāt ask for pictures to begin with if that was going to be an issue. So, I drove 30 mins for them to tell me to come back.. A day before my next appointment they say we have to reschedule for the 2nd time bc someone hurt their arm and couldnāt do my hair... I rescheduled again to give them the benefit of the doubt and not go somewhere else.. (mistake) then on the day of my actual appt they tell me I canāt come in bc the store isnāt ready... why they would schedule me the same day they open the store back up and not a day after to give themselves more time idk... I understand covid makes things more difficult but this could have been handled a lot differently. I wanted my hair done before I left leave for school and now I canāt get it done by anybody bc I leave in 5 days. I put my trust they would come through bc Shari does great hair but I was wrong. They knew that I needed it done before a certain time and all I got was a āsorry, do you want to reschedule?ā Not actually try to fix the situation offer me a free trim for having to reschedule 3X, nothing. This isnāt acceptable. There needs to be more training, structure and better...
