Conclusion: Oh we love this place. Customer service is an A+++. Parking is free and like i mentioned earlier, they have a little lot next to them. You can also drive to the back to look for more parking. They can get pretty busy pretty fast. They do have a bar area. Our server, JJ, was excellent, attentive, and I can see him trying to serve all his tables as best he can. There was a large group in the other room celebrating a bday and he too was serving them. Chris, the manager, was awesome! He made my honey's bday a blast. Chris even mentioned a few other restaurants with good prime rib to us. Super sweet! Thank you so much Chris and JJ for your awesome customer service!!!! I highly recommend...
Read moreI was just thinking of coming back here and giving this place another shot. I am meeting up with an old high school friend and this place instantly popped into my mind because of the atmosphere.
However, I read a review written by a Hispanic woman who did not have as wonderful an evening as other reviewers on here and, instantly, I flashed back to my initial visit here. Why? Well I am a Hispanic male and and I did not have a wonderful visit either, but my friends did and they are not Hispanic.
We went to see a local Sacramento band play here one night after we had our own rehearsal. I ordered the mushroom appetizer. I forget the name, but it is the only one on the menu. After the waitress took my order, I waited for my appetizer and my beer and she seemed to have forgotten all about me. My friends received their beers and she didn't bring mine despite having ordered the same exact beverage as my friend.
Once I got my appetizer it tasted a little odd. I was hungry so I didn't notice at first, but all the mushrooms were burnt. My friends and the wife of my one of the band players tasted it after my comment on it and they said it must have been scraped from the bottom of the pan and that I should complain.
By this time I was not impressed by the service or the food, but decided to cut the place a break. Maybe the waitress had a long day, maybe the chef did. Either way, my friends were having a great time and I didn't want to be a damper.

Read moreIt's been a long while since we've visited this place and my companion and I ventured in on a Tuesday night hoping for a quiet time. Well, they had a fundraiser going and it was doing great so the dining room was rather packed and while being seated there I request out front, being the better option - no problem. We kept it simple and ordered entrees - Salmon and veggies for my companion and Lasagna for me. Thinking that the salmon MUST be farmed, since it wasn't listed as wild caught, and knowing there are several options and various qualities when it comes to farmed product, I asked our server about the salmon - where it is farmed. She didn't know but told us that she has the owner order extra for her and her family because her dad, who's picky about his salmon, loves it. She was great! As busy as the place was, I didn't want to inquire further and we went with it. Glad we did. The salmon was excellent, generous serving, moist with a very fresh, clean flavor and perfectly cooked. The veggies were steamed with a simple light seasoning, so satisfying. My lasagna was really very good, but different from most, yet in a good way that I'm not sure everyone would appreciate. First - it is HUGE! And that's all you'll get is this BIG ramekin. It is layer upon layer of pasta and cheeses, 3 inch thick and doughy - the perfect comfort food. A hearty meat-laden sauce smothers the whole thing and adds ample tomato acidity and savory meatiness for the entire meal. Somehow, I ate the whole thing, probably shouldn't have. Definitely shouldn't have... It would be nice if this was a smaller portion, like half, served with salad and minestrone, but the option is just to add soup & salad to the already huge serving. The thing is, it gets a bit monotonous eating that much lasagna, even thought it's sooo good you don't want to stop. And all the pasta options are the same. Will I order this again? You bet, but I'll likely share it or take half home... or just indulge in...
