I bought a new couch and recliner today and Tanner was amazing to work with. No pressure from him to buy and had patience while I was making my decision. I highly recommend seeking him out for your next furniture purchase! I am changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star. Although my experience with Tanner was amazing and he deserves 5 stars the rest of the experience has been awful. My delivery of my new sofa and recliner were scheduled today 12/5 so I took the day off of work to ensure I would be home for the delivery. I received a text message and a phone call last night confirming my delivery and that they would be here between 9am and 12pm. Then this morning I got a call from the driver stating that they would be here in 10 minutes and the showed up at 10am. Here I am incredibly excited to fill my empty house with furniture only to be told that they are only delivering the recliner as my sofa was on back order. I had recieved no prior notification of this. I promptly called Ashley furniture in Elk River, MN and spoke to Sue at the customer service desk and was told that she shows the sofa as in stock on the truck for delivery but that she will have the manager Andrew call me back. An hour goes by and I still have heard nothing. I call the site back and finally speak to Andrew. I was told that there is no way to get my furniture to me today. I had numerous conversations with the delivery team and got no results. After talking to Andrew about 5 times and over 5 emails later my furniture was delivered to me today 12/06. None of that would have been completed without Andrew's help. If it wasn't for Tanner and Andrew this would have ended in a terrible experience. Instead now I get to enjoy my...
Read moreOnly shop here if you enjoy being lied to. First off, I stopped there before going to another furniture store that has free delivery. Should have just kept driving. A salesman named John Kiernan. He gave me the whole schpeel about the store layout. Then he left me so I could shop in peace, which I appreciated. I found a furniture set that I liked and John rang me up. He told me that there would be a $199 delivery fee. I asked about the free doorstep delivery advertised on Ashley's website. He said that they don't do that anymore. I thought that was odd and I hesitated but he assured me that the delivery included the haul away of our old couch, so I let it go. He ASSURED me that my old couch would be taken away. Well I got a call at work from my husband today that the in-house delivery crew said they do NOT haul away old furniture. I called John at the store and he told me that we have to go through their 3rd party vendor for the haul away. I asked if that was free. He said we would have to pay the guy $50 for him to take it. I pointed out that he told me it would be included in the delivery and that was one of the reasons I purchased from him. Long story short, the only thing he offered was to refund $50 of the delivery fee, just so we can pay this third party vendor. I told him not to bother. My husband was told by the delivery guy that the salespeople at Ashley and Furniture Mart lie all the time and tell people that.
So there you have it, these people lie like rugs. I know I will never buy from them again. Sucks for them too because in the next year we will be buying another new couch and a couple of...
Read moreTanner Meissner was the OUTSTANDING guy who helped me go from nothing but a rough idea of the color I wanted my TV stand to be, to putting together and delivering on the vision I've had for years.
For starters, I went into the store with nothing except an idea of the basic furniture I wanted at some point in the future, eventually (sofa, table, dresser) and the thought that it should all be grey. I even told him right off the bat that I wasn't going to get it all today.
He walked me through many different sets and pieces and heard me out with any nitpicking I had or ridiculous requests. He made sure I was fully satisfied with any decision I made and if I wasn't, he showed me more options. He gave me advice on what went well together, what styles would clash and which would flow. How to furnish like an adult! lol
He proved me wrong that I could get every single piece of furniture I wanted, well under my final budget, all painstakingly picked out to my particular taste. I didn't think it would be possible without going dinky cheap Walmart furniture, and I thought it'd be years before I got the sets I wanted. I was wrong.
I couldn't have asked for better help, and we had fun doing it. He's not just a great employee, but a cool dude as well. I'll be going to Tanner for future furniture purchases (still gotta do the kid's room!) without a doubt.
EDIT: corrected...
